Willing lads ..but nowhere near good enough ...must be able shift or use as make weights ..or shift on loan off wage bill ...yes it's a squad game these days ...but a bit of our youth..or some young premiership loan lads could all offer more than these 3 ..times change ..we are progressing nicely ...let's try to ship a few out ...

It's good to read all opinions, no matter how misguided they might be. Why the OP feels that Duffy isn't able to offer a valid contribution is puzzling? Duffy is as creative a player as we have. He possesses something called guile, a rare quality amongst footballers but thankfully we're fortunate to have a player who possesses this quality.

Maybe it's a case of one man's meat being another's poison, but if anyone genuinely believes that Duffy is simply not good enough at this level then go watch a video of today's game, you'll learn exactly what Duffy brings to our game, and why he's the type of specialist who'll serve us well in the present and immediate future. To consider getting rid of Duffy while we're establishing ourselves in this division is little short of ignorance.

Tell me how many actual chances he creates ...or is goIng to create in this Division ....next to none that's how many ...he looks as though he has guile ...because he only plays little short balls around corners ...but he isn't very progressive at that ...in our formation ...and tbh in any formation in the Championship ...he is absolutely nowhere near productive enough ...looks busy ...end result 9 times of 10 Nil...

Excuse my ignorance ...but I don't need to watch a video of the game ..I saw everything clearly between 3pm ..and 4:59 pm...

Thanks for the advice though ...and when you watch the video ..come back to me with all the chances he created ....

Oh...and just a final point ...again excuse my ignorance ...please explain the " specialist " piece to me ..and ....Carruthers showed more " guile " in 10 minutes ......

Enjoy the video ....

I thought the OP was.... just taking the piss...with his odd and excessive use of .....full stops....perhaps trying to send up / mock some of the more... negative / idiotic opinions....expressed by other supporters...in recent months....then I realised....he might be being serious....and I pulled a face like this.......

Reading your post it's clear you require an awful lot of explaining.

The odd thing is that you appear to be in a minority where your view of Duffy is concerned. If you're unsure read Deadbat's review of the game. He's never less than objective in his appraisal of what a player brings to the team, and although he's clear that Duffy may not be a 90-minute player, what he brings to the team enables us to be a more effective attacking force than we would be without him. Fortunately Chris Wilder seems to share this view and is happy to include Duffy in his team. Maybe it's Wilder you should be writing to, I'm sure he'd welcome your thoughts on a player he obviously values.

If all else fails, use the Wilder agrees, so I must be right argument.

Why don't you just marry ellipsis if you love it so much?

Ha ha deadbat has never been objective in his reports on players. He has those he likes and the ones that he will write negatively about even if everyone else saw an entirely different game

I hope you're joking, but there's no hope for you if you're not.

Can we have a dislike button??

Great point Bonnet. I think we need to move Billy, Coutts, JOC and Fleck on as well. Also perhaps time for a change of manager?

The lack of depth of understanding in the OPs opinions, in particular re: Duffy are staggering to the extent of being unworthy of a direct response.

And that still makes him more objective than most other posters on here! ;)

That may well be true, he does flatter to decieve on the ball at times.. Duffy's contribution to our high pressing style, however, is absolutely essential .. Break today's goals down and see where we won the ball, and why we won the ball. Then ask yourself whether you trust Brooks or Carruthers to have the energy, intelligence or character to perform this role. For comparison Klopp says this is Coutinho's best attribute.Yet most people would only see his contribution on the ball.

he is integral to the way we play, it's been plain to see when he has not played our other midfield 2 and full backs have nowhere near as much time on the ball, his movement and work rate drags the opposition out of place, and the full backs certainly benefit. he was outstanding yesterday

A person want's Duffy sold after the last 2 games?

You'll be waiting a long time for the "Yes Blade agrees, so I must be right" argument...

I've not given any opinion on this thread, I just find it funny when people like to claim to know what Wilder is thinking.

i would actually be more pissed off at board if they sold duffy than brooks. because he has been brilliant last 2 games deserved man of the match v barnsley & was very close v derby
