Fantastic news. Apart from the fact he will ALWAYS be a Blades hero for that goal, he is a very important part of the machine, and hopefully this means he will continue to be so for the forseeable future.

In the unlikely event he is one of the players that reads this forum, thanks for everything so far Mark. Keep doing what you're doing. We all love you.

Good deal and deserved, if he looks after himself Duffy should be capable of performing to a high level. He'll also be able to pass on his experience to the younger players, so a win all round.

On his day Duffy's one of the best players that I've seen in United's colours, and without wishing to appear as if I'm passing comment/judgement on the new recruits, the trio of Coutts, Fleck, and Duffy, have been a joy to watch. The turn around in this club's fortunes since Wilder arrived has been nothing less than remarkable, and Duffy has been one of our outstanding players during this period.

Coutts should be next. He's only got another 18 months left now.

Am I right in saying Duffy’s contract has been improved but not lengthened? Deserved anyhow!! UTB

I have a man crush on Duffy! A proper footballer. Who always tries his best and never hides!

Excellent News.

Think wilder has been shrewd with getting everyone to sign on again. That way it’s not hanging over the squad or causing any issues going forward and will surely help keep the team spirit that has been so key to our success. It kind of reminds me of Burnley a bit - they have kept a core squad together and have just got better.

As for Duffy his form this season has been excellent and I assume he will understand with brooks and Holmes for competition he’s not going to start every game. Not Having that reliance on him playing every minute should extend his career at this level too.

Fantastic news. Genuinely think he could play at a top level into his mid 30s in a similar way Hoolahan has at Norwich.

I thought that too when I saw hoolahan the other day. The good thing about Duffy is he’s not relient on pace to beat opponents - more his craft and guile. Should mean he can play for longer at a high level if managed correctly because he doesn’t rely as heavily on his physical attributes which will deminish

As reported by the Sheffield star:-

The midfielder is now contracted to the Championship club until 2020 after telling manager Chris Wilder he had desire to leave Bramall Lane.

Not a dig, but don’t they read copy, it’s like a kids comic.
