Great night as ever around Victoria and Ducie Bridge in Manc, not the most up area but plenty of good old pubs and great walk back to Piccadilly down back streets. How come they have so many small, normal pubs compared to us.
Does Tufty have a problem with Adam Oxley on R/Sheffield? Listened to interview this morning and he never seems happy talking to him.
Read a message and listened to pigs on same programme saying a lot of them believe the fake Deso pitch at the Sty is responsible for a lot of their injuries.
Next week is gonna be really interesting.

Were they still filming Spiderman on your walk back to Piccadilly?

Not confirmed either way at the moment. I would suspect not.

Just saw an internet article saying a new Spiderman film with Jared Leto was being filmed there.

Made me smile because I always say when walking from the Northern Quarter through the backwhacks to Piccadilly, that parts are like New York of yesteryear.

He's normally fine with Oxley, it's McCarthy who he always sounds like he dislikes.
Thought he seemed grumpy in the pre and post match interviews this week though to be honest. I reckon the reaction to the Brizzle defeat pissed him off.

It's a Spiderman film in the same way that Venom was. Part of Sony's Spidey rights.

Fake Desso?

Must have missed that story, what’s up with the pitch at the sty?

We saw all that going on as we walked past - bloody had to walk the long way around. Bit surreal seeing yellow NYC taxis etc

Actually it might not have been that film (they filmed some of that last week) but I definitely saw yellow NYC cabs but more old school cabs I saw rather than the current style.

It was Das Boot being filmed apparently last night...https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/tv/sky-drama-das-boot-filmed-16090160

Bit inconvient for the bars/places round the Northern Quarter as it ended up shutting a lot of the roads on a Saturday night - busiest night of the week for bars/restaurants too- sure they will get compensated?

They still didn't get 30k at the sty, just saying cos the pitsmoor Pillock forgot to mention the attendance for once ont radio

The opinion from the fan should be roundly ignored because it was that of Mark, the Pitsmoor cock-socket

I’d normally ask for Mark to be respectfully referred to by his proper name of Mark The Pitsmoor Armed Robber, but I’m happy to go with you on this one. I’m even wondering about a kind of portmanteau version, Mark The Pitsmoor Armed Cock Socket?

Apparently a couple of Irish guys talking to Chansiri in the pub told him they'd do it for half the price we paid.

Nope it wasn't, just checked. It was from a normal ( for the Pigs ) sounding guy.

The bloke who watched a Youtube video of the snorters training on the pitch and questioned whether the state of it was causing injuries was definitely Mark the Pitsmoor fuck-wagon

Apparently a lot cheaper to close parts of Manchester than parts of NY (or even London).

strange both put in desso same time weve had 4 injuries owls had 64

so thats one bogus theory

Correct.

If you speak to any of the intelligent Wednesday fans, which there are a few. Or if you read about what they have done on the medical side of things at the Sty, its pretty obvious where their issues with injuries have come from. Some people in the game will say that lots of it is down to bad luck, however the latest leaning in sports science (as its probably always been, but not backed up with data) is that base fitness, preparation and recovery are the key areas to focus on.

I've said this many times before that what we have done at United under Wilder is built on the back room teams put in place by Clough and Adkins. They were using GPS and Heart rate data, but not sure how much or indeed how constrained they were. However, we've put such importance on the role of the Sports Science following the appointment of Matt Prestridge.

The Desso is a consistent surface and consistency is also thought to be a huge benefit to injury reduction

I think their biggest issues with injuries is the Middlewood Road training ground. We changed the 1st team training area at Shirecliffe so that it resembles BL as much as possible including surface and size.

Middlewood pitches are far too hard under the top due to its location next to the Don. It's a similar problem we used to have at the Lane before Desso - you'll see a lot of the injury types they have are what we had.

Depends how genuine some of their injuries are. FORESTIERI for
example was 4 months in Argentina "recovering"

Never understood Jos stance on not playing experienced players on the basis of lack of game time due entirely to him not selecting them

They did film in the Northern Quarter for Captain America The First Avenger and pretended it was 1940s Brooklyn
