We look at totally different team with these two playing regularly in the side it’s like the bloody handbrake has been released and the teams on the front foot.
Always rated Norwood and Fleck when he’s fit but having Doyle and McAtee in the side we look like a promotion team. Also appears Berge is much more of a threat in recent games.
Huge couple of months , these Citeh boys will lead us to the promised land then sign them up( once Prince has coughed up)

To be honest the fact we’re not allowed to play them against Man City, is maybe a blessing in disguise. Frankly I don’t give a monkey’s what team we put out against Man City. We need to to focus the minds of these two starlets on Norwich City

That semi final is a day out in the capitol, and that's all..

He's come a long way since that Luton game. Fair play to the lad, he got his head down, worked hard and waited for his chance to come round again. Excelent character shown by him.
His belief never seemed to waver after that game. I think he's always had a certain self assurance about him, and won't be surprised to now find himself a key player. He's also been managed quite well to be fair

Hope we’re a bit more London savvy than those dozy Geordies and Mackems, who’s idea of a good day out is to stand in the middle of Trafalgar Square frightening all the pigeons.

That's right - I think he approached it as a challenge rather than a setback and backed himself to succeed. He clearly has belief in his own ability, but he was physically bullied during that game and it would have been very easy for him to disappear back to Man City's academy to play with the other kids. Instead he dusted himself down and suited up for the next battle, undeterred.

Hecky must have an excellent reputation in the game for bringing through and developing young talent. He's very willing to use young players and manages their minutes very well.

McAtee has peaked late in the season as I thought he would and must start every game

Doyle should be rotated with Norwood - we can't have him burning out
We have 9 games left and he has been in and out of the team up to now

A common sense post first one this week
Norwich and points before the cup and after are the only priority

How can Doyle burn out? He's hardly been used on a regular basis and with only 9 games remaining and being a young lad, i'm sure he could manage. It looks to me like it's Norwood who's burnt out.

The reason he's hardly been used on a regular basis has been fitness related, be that injury or actual fitness issues. Some of his absences have otherwise been inexplicable

Can't see him suddenly managing 9 in a row. Needs managing intelligently..... and it's not like the alternative is some amateur - it's one of our best 2 or 3 players this season

Be interesting to see if we go without Norwood again at Norwich.... it will take more balls from Hecky than for the previous 2 games, despite it working well in those games

norwood needs to start playing like a proper midfielder and not a quarterback practically alongside our centre backs thats the advantage for us when doyle plays in that role a proper box to box midfielder norwood is all but finished with us after this season imo

The pigeons won't be there. They will be on the pitch playing for us down the wing as usual.

Stupid rules
You can see why though.

City lend two class players or more to one other club. They help to take points from their rivals but the same team is then sizeably weakened when they play City.

One player seems a bit tight. But at least they mitigate the impact.

That said, nothing to stop City selling a player or two to United but with a buy-back clause. Only difference is they could play in cup games and against City but from a retaining ownership perspective there isn't much different lending someone to having a favorable option to buy them back.

It’s the minor change in formation as well which has freed up the players sitting behind McB.

This ^^^^^^ one million percent this ^^^^^^^ with the emphasis on ‘minor change’ way to many knee jerkers who want to fire sale the squad if we lose a couple.

We know Norwood and Fleck can’t play together nether can Billy and McB, we know Berge is a better player when Fleck is on the bench, we also know Norwood can start Fleck cant and Billy is good for the last 15 minutes to keep up the press if we are a goal in front.

Now if only PH would do what her tells us to do and listen, we might get somewhere.

9 games left - hopefully - he shouldn’t burn out

We really need to push to sign Doyle, but if not, we still desperately need to find somebody to replace Norwood.
He'd be the perfect Norwood replacement and of great age. Whether City would let him go I'm not sure, De Bruyne (as World-class as he is) isn't getting younger and Doyle could learn so much from him over the next 2-3 seasons being around the City squad. However, Doyle's young enough that I reckon £10mil + add ons, would get a deal done if City would let him go. If we go up, he'd be my first target for a perm deal.
