You weren't sat on the Kop then. Me and another mate (not all my mates agreed), were booing as loud as we could and there were other sporadic boos around us too. I'd written to Julian Winter and gone in for a meeting with him to explain my complete disgust at signing a violent woman beating thug. He was a serial offender with multiple convictions and an all round scumbag.

Having said that, I agree that things will blow over and I can't see any booing on Sunday.

It's party-day, league-title-day and hopefully 100-points-day, so let's just enjoy that.

Can we all just think on, a guy dipped into one outside his relationship which has fuck all to do with us.

His partner and him have had to deal with it AND the poor bastard was then accused of rape which he was innocent of.

He went to jail and lost his job, he's been through so.e right shit, taking him back into the fold is a very reasonable and human gesture.

I know it's sad that society doesn't show any compassion and instantly throws stones at sinners so they can take the high moral ground. Im more in the camp "everyone sometimes makes a mistake and deserves a second chance"

It's serial offenders like John Terry, Marlon King and even Jose Baxter that I struggle to forgive.

I also remember the shit storm when Marlon King signed.
Apparently there was going to be demo's in the car park and 5,000 were boycotting matches.

Guess what? The gate actually went up about 2,000 for Kings debut and so many rang Radio Sheffield to say they were heading their season tickets back and crowds would be under 15K.
Also no booing, only cheers (abet muted) when introduced to the crowd.

Think people will be laughing on Sunday about this faux disharmony because it won't be there.
Also it wouldn't surprise if theres loud chanting by the whole stadium in support of Cheds signing.

No one knows if Ched will be any good, he might be crap.
But what we do know is, Ched at his best is a top level Championship/ lower PL standard striker and would be worth 5 to 10 million easy. So it makes £500K look a worthwhile gamble.

Absolutely right ....... I've even heard £150,000 + "add ons" mentioned and to be honest the cost of evans signing ( if he does) is peanuts.

I'm also convinced that if he doesn't deliver the goods ( goals) he won't play as Tufty demonstrated this season that even if he signs them they've still got to deliver or be dropped ( Hussey).

Its a football issue and I'm learning to trust Tufty on those .......

This has been a memorable season ...... pity the pig Star and Radio pig broke the news prematurely but ....... no surprise there. They had to TRY to tarnish our season somehow, but unfortunately for them ......... they've failed because there will be a stadium full of Blades celebrating in style the superb season that Tufty and the players have given to us !!

I don't think that's really the case mate ...... nearly every Blade I've spoken to has said; " if it works out its a good use of a small fee ... and if he can't cut it in the championship Tufty won't play him ".

Its pretty much as simple as that really ..... we support the team, not individuals, because individuals ( good and bad) come and go ......

The Lane is going to be absolutely rammed on Sunday, it should be an occasion to tell your grandkids about. Billy just needs one more goal to hit 30 for the season, and the Blades just need to win to get 100 points - which will be a club record even including when it was 2 points for a win. Quite a few pubs are opening up early too. Ched is just a minor distraction. This is going to be a big day in the Blades history, and could be the start of something even bigger. COYRAWW.

wish I could get up there on Sunday, but not possible amazing to think we become one of only four teams to have won every league, something we should not forget, and also this has been the best season for years, I am sure next year will be a little different but looking forward to the team enjoying the success and seeing where they will take us next.

What I do know is this...

Been watching the Blades since the early 1970's when we had a fantastic team. I've seen lots of really good strikers in that time but I think Evans at his best is on a par with any of them. He was simply "unplayable" at times. Absolutely devastating! Honestly I've never seen better than that in a striker - ever- in a United shirt.

I know we've no guarantee he'll ever be that good again. BUT for £500k when strikers are fetching £10 m or more at this level - are you seriously telling me you don't think that is worth a punt?

I think you and some other Blades are still thinking "League 1" in terms of transfer prices tbh.

This is a potential steal and if not it won't break the bank.
