Don’t take the TRAM

Trams are the new holding cells.

If I were going I'd probably just get a cab or bus down through Walkley, and walk the last half mile or so, avoiding Hillsborough Corner and Penistone Rd if possible. Probably best not to do any drinking too near their ground.

Of course, it's not just SYP who people need to look out for, it's their fans too.

If we boycott the trams, how will SYP ensure there's some kind of crush this time?

Only open the turnstiles 5 minutes before kick off? Only open one turnstile? They'll be scrambling for such solutions as we speak.

We've had the Wall of Steel, maybe they're preparing some sort of large net they can throw over us?

Maybe they'll implant micro chips in us on the way in so they can identify and trap us a bit easier next time?

This thread will start to cause problems for SYP lurkers on this forum trying to find out what we are all doing before the match and how we intend to get to the game. I propose we give out coded messages from now on to avoid detection.

I intend to commence drinking on Monday in the pub of the one eyed sailor. Continuing the nautical theme I may move onto the pub with a similar name to Boat. My transport arrangements will either be by hackney carriage or alternatively by hailing a passing omni. :)

You’re probably right about threads being monitored so maybe the best thing to do is keep your plans to yourself.

My personal suggestion is to try to manage going to a game without dressing up as a footballer in a tight fitting replica shirt and travel incognito.

Back in the day, you could get a train from Midland Station to Wadsley Bridge, which was in later years only opened for football matches. That would have been helpful today, as it would have provided an alternative to the tram that doesn't pass through Porky Corner.

Fixed.

I’d have question marks about drinking near any direct bus or tram route to Swillsborough as well as suspect you’ll be shunted straight onto said tram / bus.

1200 Penny Black/Queens Head, then nice walk to the Rustbucket and keeping a look out for the little pigy
heads peeking out of their Derby Day tunnels.
