Bit of a mix in my office in Yarmouth but predominantly Norwich with a few Ipswich and one or two West Ham. And me of course. No pigs thankfully!

Bad enough with Norwich and West Ham fans!

Last place I worked was all Unitedites but we mostly worked on our own. Most of the people I came to meet were either Blades, dingles or following other teams strangely there seemed to be very few pigs in the trucking industry, not a bad thing that but guaranteed if they win wherever you work one will come from under his stone.

Until recently it was 3 x Liverpool, 1 x Chelsea, 1 x Reading/Arsenal & 5-6 "not interested".
Been on a new project 6 weeks - not one conversation about football. Very boring.

Desk next to me is a proper Celtic fan. Season ticket holder and he goes to all the games; fair play to him since we work in London... lucky he's got an understanding manager :)

As my nearest office is in Salford, it's firmly Utd. Man Utd. Which is why my dislike of them is right up there with that lot in S6!

passed quite a few lorry loads of the feckers on my travels......:D

One Man U fan, 1 Everton and 1 Blackburn Rovers plus me of course. Guess which one doesnt go to ANY matches ?

I am afraid my office is full of Canaries and they were all chirping this morning. :(:rolleyes:

HH

There's only two who even like football at my place. One's a Hull City fan and the other supports Liverpool (he is a scouser to be fair).

I've taken the scouser to Bramall Lane twice so far and my propaganda is working well. He's cheering us on in the pub next Sunday against the filth.

Ask the Hull City fan who he supported before they were in the premiership!!

50/50 at our place. And I'll have to sit in the home stand to watch it!
My mum (now 89) was a copytaker at the Star/Green Un in the late 1950s/early 1960s and during the 1980s. From what I remember, she told me that Millers reporter John Piper was a Blades fan. Blades reporter (until 1973), Peter Howard, became a Blade after moving from Stockport. Tony Pritchett (Wendy reporter until he crossed over in 1973) was from Nottingham so he didnt support either Sheffield club, his first love was golf. Peter Markie became a Blade after moving from Glasgow. Paul Thompson has always been Wendy. Not sure about Benny Hill, Brian Steer (Barnsley reporter) and Reg Whittaker (Chesterfield reporter)

I work in Grimsby so its the odd Mariners fan, occasional Hull fan and then there's me and surprisingly another Blade! I like it that I don't have to work with any Wednesday fans but if we win then that's when Facebook comes into play, as it did when they lost to Huddersfield!

Benny Hill was a Barnsley reporter? Makes sense.

The obvious answer is Man U but Blackburn are a piss poor club with crap fans so I'll say its the Blackburn fan!

I work in Rotherham, on the office side we've got 2 Blades, 2 Watford, 2 Leeds, 1 Liverpool, 1 Rangers, 1 Forest. We've got a dozen women work there, most of them don't give a f**k about football, of those with a passing interest 1 Rotherham, 1 Forest and 1 Blade. So no pigs on the office side. One of our drivers is and will no doubt come and find me Monday if we've lost, if not I'll not see him for a few weeks!

:D

Benny wasnt really a regular reporter for a club. He was a Morning Telegraph sports reporter. I will never forgot his praise for Woody after he scored the equaliser at West Ham in Sept 1974. The below is from my "Alan Woodward's goals and assists thread"

This memorable goal is what I would describe as "the goal that defied science". My dad had driven down to my boarding school in Newbury for that day and took me and my three schoolmates to Upton Park to watch the match. Just before we got in the ground the gale-force wind blew a match ticket out of my dad's hand and he had to chase after it for about thirty yards. West Ham were leading 1-0 at half time and United faced playing against the strong wind for the second half and even if we had won a penalty it would be an almighty struggle to have enough power to shoot past the goalkeeper. Even now my Norwich-supporting mate would still recall the goal Woody scored in the match.
Here is what Benny Hill (not the comedian!) wrote in the Morning Telegraph two days later: “Long after Alan Woodward has finished his playing career, the fans will be talking about the goals he scored for Sheffield United; the spectacular, the face saving, the dramatic. Rarely it seems, is he involved in the run-of-the-mill goal. Invariably there are moments of drama when his power and skill combine to smash the ball into the net. At Upton Park he pulled one out of the hat to celebrate his birthday and put United level in the 78th minute; it was a wonderful example of his ability to read an opportunity and to do something positive as it comes. Intercepting a short pass from Holland just inside the West Ham half, Woodward streaked through the centre to slam the ball from 25 yards past a startled Day. John Lyall, the new West Ham manager, put the incident in a nutshell when he told me; “You can't give Woodward chances like that: he's too good a player.”

I can remember being at a party quite a few years ago to celebrate my nephew's wedding. The bride's family were all Blackburn fans, which was weird as they are southerners. Anyway, Mrs NYB was with the men talking football, her favourite subject and later on, one of them came up to me and said admiringly, 'I've never met a woman who knows so much about football.' How proud was I? :) :)

Work in South Manchester, so naturally it's a combination of Man United, Stoke and one Arsenal

I work in Finance in London, so obviously I'm surrounded by a load of Arsenal fans. They're such an odd fanbase. They're like the Port Vale of the south in terms of the tinpot weirdness of their fans but have somehow managed to become this huge club. (Un)surprisingly most of them aren't capable of much football conversation beyond "YUH GIROOD IS GUD." There's a Stoke fan who has a good understanding of the game who I respect a lot and that's about it. When I say Sheffield United when asked who I support, I often have to repeat it a couple of times. Arsenal fans. Just really odd.

Work in Barnsley, got three Barnsley fans, two Leeds, one blade (me) 1 pig, 1 Man U & 1 Liverpool. The pig is a season ticket holder at Rotherham cause Hillsboro was too expensive so that tells you all you need to know.

The Press portakabin at Barnsley is named in Benny's honour. The only one I knew of your list was Thommo, who did Owls for about 35 years from memory. Almost as long as Sir Les Payne covered the Millers!

Just finished a contract in Farnborough (ugh!) working with loads of non-football fans but managed to have sensible conversations with Pompey and Villa fans.

The Silent Blade unerring-eye-for-detail-gene was clearly passed down from mother to son then.

Just an excuse to say thank you to Silent Blade for his unbelievably good Blades knowledge - cheers mate!

I was wondering, now that we are 'in the bigtime' are there increasing numbers of Unitedites in the office at work?

The in-laws are the problem for me, horrible die-hard pigs the lot of them. My wife doesn't care about football otherwise we'd argue about it all the time as well. I get random pictures on the anniversary of this and that (normally the cup semi, them getting promoted, boxing day etc) sent me all the time from them, what would be best for me is if we win and I can take the high ground and not resort to sending them pictures, that will annoy them more than me giving it the big one. If they win they will be all over it like the set of classless pigs they are.
How's it going with them

I've been at a new workplace for about 8 months and it's a real mixed bag. Derby and Forest fans galore as it's in East mids but also a couple of blades, Everton, Swindon, Liverpool etc. No pig fans but had an hilarious conversation on day one.

One of the blades fans gets chatting to me and introduces me as a blade to his manager, the Leeds fan.

He went in to tell be that he was glad that they hadn't been promoted as he prefers being at the top of the table rather than losing every week in the prem.

My eyebrows were on the top of my head by the time he'd finished. Deluded
