Definitely want to go up as it should change the overall future of the club for the better. I would expect actually being in The Premier League next season to be very depressing though.
I’d be happy if the owner accepted the inevitable and spent the money on infrastructure like the academy and the ground.
The team is not ready for it, and although I think Hecky will make a good show of it, at least we would end up with a decent future, if and when we go back up.

This pretty much sums up my view. Either we go up and can strategically plan for the future or we stay down and enter the parachute payment death spiral, the one which results in selling any and every asset as the shortfalls in cashflow begin to bite.

Hated the last season in the prem loss every fucking weekend not for me. At least in the championship we have more good weekends than bad and i enjoy the football better cant be doing with prem fuckers rolling all over the pitch
As opposed to championship goalkeepers coming and taking 15 minutes over every goal kick? I’d rather see Salah and Firminho dive about!

15 minutes 🤣 you need a new watch

How is this even a debate. As fans we should want the best for our team, which is being in the top tier and getting a share of the money and use it to reinvest in the club. Even if we go down we will be a lot stronger financially to go again!

It’s a debate because getting into the playoffs themselves does not guarantee the outcome you describe by any stretch of the imagination .

Whilst I would vote yes so that we at least have the chance of achieving it , a far more likely outcome would be the one we have seen so many times before and if that were to be the case I’d rather give it a miss , since I’m not sure that either my heart or my sanity can take many more of those . :)

The championship is a crazy league for results but the quality is pretty poor. It's impossible to watch most games that the blades aren't involved with for entertainment. Even some we play are dull.

I definitely want to win the play offs.

The final day out may even exceed those at Darlington and Leicester and it's probably the only time I'll ever get the chance to see United lift a trophy at Wembley.

Next season would be a real ball ache though as we lose every week, but I'll still turn the games into a good day out with my mates if I can find anyone else daft enough to go.

Yes, for the money and the glory, mostly for the money.

We'll be worth more and hopefully the Prince will sell us to someone who wants and can invest in our beloved club

I'd love us to win it but the thought of another losing journey home terrifies me

It's all about the money now. I'm 62 now and want my last years of actually going to the Lane watching the best teams. I would also love to cement our position as the top Sheffield club.

Where's the option:

"It's the fucking play-offs, I'm not sure my mental health can take another ridiculous fuck-up"

or

"Fucking VAR"

but yes, of course, who wouldn't want to be in with a chance of promotion from a 3-game hit?

I just want to watch exciting, quality football.

Getting promoted to the Premier League would make that much more likely in the longer term as long as we don’t spaff the money up the wall (again).

Playoffs are generally very exciting and I would love to be part of it, even if we don’t win.

I’m hedging my bets on this one, I’d prefer to know if the owners would make the necessary funds available, rather than having the PL money plastered around sundry European clubs?

Rhetorical question, I know…..

Yo-yoing for a few years like Norwich would be a change - get promoted, spend nowt, and spend alternate season getting smashed all over the place, relegated, then pissing the Championship and back up. Rinse and repeat.

Sounds fucking horrendous.

Sounds brilliant to me

With the table being so tight it's difficult to see who we would get in the semis and the final. Playoffs are never fun
Autos still on? 😂

I think over the years, like it or not, we have proved time and time again, we can't afford to be a top Division club,
All we ever do is knacker any genuine players we have, and pay top money and wages for players who can't even hold their own in the championship.....
It's much better all round if we just polish a few gems and sell them on so we can afford to stay in the top half of the Championship......

do we want to be successful
do we want to win a play off final
do we want 2 divisions between us and Wednesday

mmm let me think for a bit

I’d love for us to win the playoffs - typically it’d be the only one I’d not be able to go to...so probably means we’ll win.

Not sure I could cope with having witnessed all the shitty play off semis and finals to then miss the one we actually won!

But still voted yes for winning the play offs

Of course I want us to get into the playoffs.

The fact that my nerves won't be able to take it, or that I vowed never to do Wembley again after the Burnley defeat, is irrelevant.

Get in there and it's a 3 game season and we shouldn't fear anyone if we are at our best.

We managed to have the players to stay up as recently as 2 years ago. It can be done.
Yeah, we did well but needed more depth, we unfortunately wasted all that money or one man did. It will be bargain basement signings if it happens again and no offense but the second season was horrible, would rather not go through that again.

We get fuck all from referees in this league, even with VAR the referees took the piss both years!
