Just reading that our ref tomorrow is Mark Haywood, who incidentally is from and based in West Yorkshire?

We haven't had the bloke ref us this season as of yet however reading up on the games he has officiated, he seems to have a bit of a poor reputation. This may also explain why the majority of games that he ref's these days tend to be League Two games.

He isn't afraid to wave the cards around as well, in one particular game this season he dished out 6 yellows and 3 reds .

So overall it doesn't fill you with optimism really does it? My question still stands by the way? I always thought ref's had to be based in a neutral area? What with this one being from West Yorkshire, let's hope that he is a Leeds or Huddersfield fan as opposed to a Bantam.

He reffed the Donny game, we won 3-1 and sent one of their's off.

Last season reffed 4-0 win against Scunny and sent Llera the pig off.

From my recollection, he's one of the few decent ones.

Don't think we've ever lost when he's reffed us.

So he did!

Just having a look at his record now on a website and it does seem like in the past he has actual worked out well for us but I am still sceptical about his West Yorkshire connections :-) He seems like he is handy with his cards all things said and done, but I am sure Adkins will be aware of this due to the Doncaster game. Probably a good thing that young Che is out of this one then as he likes to get a bit hot headed.

He booked Che for "diving" against Doncaster so maybe it is. Personally I don't think it was a dive at all though.

They cant be from the same County FA unless both teams are from the same. He is actually a twin. Ask me after the game who he supports.

I assumed they always had to be from a different county FA.

Be from neutral territory they do not ;)

I remember the then Brighton Chairman having a rant about a West Yorkshire ref doing one of our games against Brighton after we had won down there and it turned out it was a programme mis print and he was actually from the West Midlands.

Sounds like David Coleman's rant at the Olympics when he deplored that the Australian relay team hadn't turned up in their usual Green and Gold kit and had opted for white and black.

It took him till sometime in the 2nd or 3rd leg to admit that it was actually the Austrian team. (btw I think David Coleman was a hopeless commentator)

Brighton's manager, Steve Coppell was embarrassed by his chairman's rants
