They were the better side last night, gave a good 'away' performance and should have scored a couple.

Take the red and white specs off and you will realise we were turgid last night and rarely looked like scoring.

One league win in ten. I think we need to concentre on our own issues rather than the pigs

Deluded they got men behind the ball and tried to brake on the counter attack. Never really tried to win they played not to lose but hoped for a fluky win. It’s what pub league teams do in the cup against better opposition. They were lucky, not a bad performance from a multi million set of primadonnas. Rhodes cost more money than our complete squad.

Yep. This!!

I was speaking to a couple of pig fans last week who thought we'd win easily.

I told them, we've had 1 win in 10 and have made popular the notion that you need to dominate possession to win games. In fact we're a case study in the opposite.

Without Coutts, we have loads of the balk but rarely look threatening.

Here's hoping Leonard & Evsns can change that.

Amazing really how they now have to turn blokes who could play a bit into anti-footballers just to survive now.
Oh and turn them into multi-millionaires at the same time

My eyes would bleed if I had to watch what they turned out last night regularly, surely the prospect of a season ticket refund and a lifetime ban looks more attractive to any of their fans that actually like football now?!

I thought he should have been red-carded too. He was in a petulant mood all night, and knew what he was doing.

As for the football, it's difficult to comment after one game. I guess Jos didn't want to start with a derby loss, and Tufty pretty much called how things would be.

There's no question in my mind about the anti-football accusation being correct when Carlos was here; how many of these expensive signings have looked any robin at S6? Not many, and for me the most glaring example of that is Abdi. Occasionally, you see a player who's obviously too good for the level he's playing at. Well when Abdi was playing for Watford he looked that way, absolutely destroyed Wednesday, and it's one of the best performances I've seen from any player in this division. We all said that whether Watford went up or not, he'd be in the PL the following season. And he played 30 games in the PL and never looked out of place. Until he came to Hillsborough, that is. I don't think I've ever seen a player sink so rapidly as that, and it's one of the reasons I wanted Carlos out.

Ndong has just got sent off in the Cardiff v Sunderland match for an almost identical tackle.
The ref last night lost the plot'. He'd already sent loovens off and he knew that Wallace should have walked also but he bottled it!!. Different refs have very contrasting standards. It's been a recurring theme this season and its cost us on occasions. Utb

Glad you enjoyed it
36 percent possession KAPOW !!!

???? Why would I have enjoyed it when it was our worse home performance of the season ? I am sure we had more than 36 possession. Trouble is we did sod all with it and scored as many goals as them. Didn't think theyr was much to be pleased with last night other than the performances of Stearman, O'Connell, Fleck and Moore

Because you obviously know fuck all about football if you think they were the better team
We were well below par but still miles better than them
We actually tried to win the game
It's easier to destroy than create

Take up knitting or summat football's not for you

Creating chances,, quicker to the ball, an effective game plan. I thought we were frantic and created little
Effective game plan - yes - play with 8 in your own half, hope that the opposition use their whole team in attack and then play the ball into the space that's defended by 3 players.
It would have been interesting if both teams had used the same plan ;)
And when the boot was on the other foot - Burton happened :)

Worked for Bolton, Norwich and to a lesser extent Birmingham - and now Wednesday when they came here.

I agree, I thought Wednesday came for a bore draw and that's what they left with. Therefore they 'won' as they got what they came for.

The philosophical debate as to why they feel the need to do that against their poorer neighbours, I'll leave to others. But having seen us now struggle against teams that come to the Lane and play that way, I'm slightly concerned as to the what we're going to differently in future.

Not allowed a different opinion am I ? Know fuck all about football. ? What was good about us last night ? Who had more attempts on goal ? Whoout muscledus in key areas ? Take those specs off and think about what we saw last night. A poor performance against a poor side. Wilder has done brilliant for us and we have played well for the most part this season. However last night was concerning in many areas and if you can't see that it is maybe it is you that knows nothing about football

Hopefully the new signings will help

Like I said we were under par but we were a lot better than them

Think football's a bit too nuanced for you mate you might be better off with a jigsaw or a connect 4

No we weren't. We dominated possession so looked like we were better, but they man marked Duffy out of the game, overloaded our left so Stevens and O'Connell couldn't create any kind of overlap, and they kicked Fleck up in the air all game.

The output of this was, we flattered to deceive and they got the point they came for and in balance they deserved...

We weren't better. When Plan A wasn't working we didn't have a Plan B.... That's what worries me.

So setting up defensively is better than attacking and trying to score goals ?

Cannot stand the little runt, for a number of reasons. Dirty, mardy little tosser. Should have been sent off for the first challenge on Fleck and then for simulation once on a yellow. Arsehole.

To top it off he really reminds me [to look at] of a bloke who lives at the end of my road, also a Pig with whom I have had words in the past, on non football related matters. He's on a yellow as well.

Big Vern is having a quiet afternoon if you want me to ask him to pop round?

When you set up defensively and come away with a 0-0 Vrs you spend all game huffing and puffing but can't score - who would you say were the 'better' team?

Don't agree with their tactic - but you can't disagree that it worked...

It only worked because as you said we were poor
If baldock had controlled that early chance and slotted it home it could have been a rout
We've struggled against teams setting up that way it most championship teams are set up to counter that week in week out

Pigs are going down

Like I said before it's easier to destroy than create
They should have been down to ten men so their main requirement was fiscipline and they even lacked that

Both teams were shit but only one was trying to win the game

If Moore hadn't produced that wonder save at the end, we'd be pig sick this morning...

If my uncle had tits...

They got what they came for and we were powerless to stop them...

The thread is about last night' s game
Being a merely mortal person unlike you, force of a nature, but I'm fairly sure the thread is about Ross Wallace. Just saying like. Your waffling about other stuff. Best or 2nd best performance of their season. Oh how the massive have fallen :)

Ross Wallace didn't play last night then ? :-)

A point to help them in their relegation scrap last night in what was their Cup final
