Been told Diego is to do pre-season training at Bournemouth and if they sign him, he will be back to us on loan
How reliable would you rate your source Silent? I don't expect any details or anything, you come across as a very solid poster so if you say it's reliable, I'll take your word for it.

Seems like a poor solution though, either he commits to us and signs a new contract or he goes. I don't see why we should devote our resources to developing him for another club. If we're going for loan players it should be someone who can command a regular first team place.

What a load of utter bullshit this is. Diego is signing the new contract offered. Not leaving especially to bloody Bournemouth

I know that "Diego De Girolamo" is quite a long name but surely it doesn't take this long for him to sign a piece of paper? ;)

Two sources apparently. One was reliable when one of our players (left us in 2008) was at the club. The other lives near Diego but he isnt sure

He posted this on Twitter the other day

So a message board post, an article quoting Football League World of all people as the source, and a random rumour.

The list of not-actually-sure-if-they-exist suitors continues.

And bang up to date from March and April.....

Cryptic (?) message from Adidas on his twitter "enjoy your new stripes"

I guess the non existent suitors also applied to a guy called Che .

There's actually plenty of other sources quoting diego which is why it's got picked up Saints, Black cat and Cherries fans.

Whatever next, scouts going to watch players, or even a rumours section for S24SU? :)

'Scouts watching a player' is a few degrees short of a club putting a concrete contract offer in. We shall see - if any of them do he'll be off in a shot. If none of them do, he'll stay with us. The latter looks far more likely imho.

Look!..... He either lives near Diego or he doesn't!!!

Why should we take the word of a 'source' who isn't sure where he lives!
I didnt say he isnt sure that he lives near him. I have just got home from work and now will explain better. I got a text from the Blade who was a reliable source for a few years (until a player left in 2008) saying "Been told Diego will be training with Bournemouth for pre-season" so ten minutes later I showed the text to someone who lives near Diego (he knows the family for a long time) and he said "I was told that he will come back to us on loan if Bournemouth signs him" before adding that he isnt sure if what he was told is true (I didnt ask him if he got the info from Diego's family)

I think you've missed the joke here mate.:)

Hands up all those who think that if Diego de Giro, did hit form with us he'd be off the first offer he got from a higher club ?
Maybe but if that was the case we'd get good money for him. Providing we spent it on improving the team I wouldn't be gutted. That's how it works; unless you're Barca or Real, bigger clubs will always take your best players.

Today I spoke to the person who "lives near Diego" and I realise I had misunderstood him yesterday. He didnt say that Diego would be going to Bournemouth and coming back to us on loan. It was when he read my text about Diego going to train with Bournemouth, he was confused as he was told last weekend that Diego is to sign a contract for us and was trying to work my text out before saying "it must be a loan deal then". I was puzzled by what he said and I had assumed he meant that Diego would be going back to us on loan if he signs for Bournemouth.

Also I sent a text to the person who told me about hearing Diego going pre-season training with Bournemouth and he replied how he heard about it and it does seem to be a good source

Dismiss the rumour about him going to us on loan if he signs for Bournemouth but keep an open mind about the other rumour

Diego has had a trial at Bournemouth , but deemed - not good enough . He will be back at the Lane , but under SUFC terms IMO not his agents or family.

He has to impress Adkins and Co . The boot is on the other foot now in SUFC favour .

Was it ever otherwise? Here is a chap who has never played higher than the 3rd tier and has hardly pulled up trees at that level. I very much doubt SUFC would be desperate to keep him if he made unreasonable demands.

Wouldn't be surprised if we still didn't sign him. At the end of the day what's Diego's options? He didn't do anything special at Northampton or York in League 2, dismissed by Clough due to his attitude, and then he's reportedly been turned down from Bournemouth.

I'm not saying no football league club would have him because I'm certain they would. But if he wants to play for a big club and wants first team football where is he going to find that in the Championship?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Diego sign for somebody like Blackpool who are dieing for players and would guarantee him a game every week at a semi decent level.

The excitement seems to have gone from Diego for us Blades and I think he will find it very hard to win us back over.

It'll be great f he does well and of course we'd be cheering him on.

His family, by which I'm assuming you mean his dad, want him and have wanted him to stay at SUFC throughout from what I was told.

At the end of the day , Adkins and his back room staff , will have more pressing issues on the agenda , to concentrate the mind , over the sideshow , us fans have have had , relating to Clough and Diego.

Whatever decision Adkins makes on any player , will be good enough for me.
