Devante Cole

His firm has collapsed since the start of the season and there's no indication we've gone back in for him - think Wilder has his sights set elsewhere to be honest.

How the fuck can Fleetwood demand more than the 200k plus add ons that they agreed in August?

His form has only got worse, and his contract is nearer expiry.

We should fuck this one right off if Fleetwood are messing about like that.

Let stupid Birmingham throw more money away.

He’s not worth that fee.
If they get it though, paid off for Fleetwood to mess about I suppose. But a strange move considering they look a long way and a fair few players away from staying up.

I would say the Birmingham stuff is nonsense but if any club are going to waste money then it's them or Wednesday. I wasn't sure if he was worth bringing in on a free let alone for over half a million,

Sounds like all Fleetwood and paper talk to me, he's not good enough. We have Clarke, Donaldson, Sharp, Lavery, Evans, Thomas all better than Cole, why waste money on somebody no better than what we have already? Sinclair would've been good but his agent and he shit that all up. I'm really hopeful we've moved on from all this tom fuckery and are looking at alternate options.

Call me ungrateful but I'm not fussed at all over this lad

I'm not inspired BUT we need some pace.

I'd agree with that certainly.

I've seen Cole quite a bit over recent years and whilst he's got a bit of something, too often he has no impact on the game.

I guess we want him to run in behind but he's not lightning quick when I've seen him.

I'd trust Wilder if he believes he can improve him, and naturally we have to be realistic about where we're shopping, I just can't help having an opinion where I won't be fussed if this isn't a goer.

The only thing I see him adding to what we already have is pace, we do lack pace.

I'd be tempted to go back for Sinclair if we don't get Cole. As long as he has a different agent.

Sinclair a Agree, but Cole i would not be bothered if we got him at all, however I don't think we will get either, I think we will not strengthen up front till the summer.

You can bin Sinclair off for me. He proved he wasn’t bother about playing football by not having the gumption to tell ‘his employee’ not to fuck about with his career in the summer.

At least Cole was keen to come. How many weeks would Sinclair need to get some match sharpness? Can we afford to give him that time in the remaining games?

Surely there is better than these two in a premiership reserve team. Wilson seems to be the one we are pursuing, been there does it and got the tee shirt and an ideal wilder player in that he has something to prove having recovered from a long injury but apparently impressed in first part of season for their reserves

Feel like there might be a ‘statement’ player somewhere - someone to make the league take notice.

But suspect that would cost a huge loan fee. Afobe for example would seem to tick at lot of boxes and would surely shine at this level. But realistically and given Clarke’s goal scoring feats would they be any more prolific than he is?

Maybe that’s why we are looking at a level below for a new attribute / dimension to the attack.

Ryan Kent would more than do for me as the 'statement' signing.

Leonard, Evans and Kent and no sales would be a great window. As far as I'm concerned we could do without a striker. But Afobe would be an incredible addition if we could get him. Like an upgrade on Donaldson. He could play with Clarke - who he knows from Wolves btw.

Birmingham bidding silly money for a kid who was worth nowt in the summer.

Apparently it's silly money they want because they still have a clause allowing them to extend his contract for a further year.

Sinclair gone Dutch. Happy with Leon, Don, Billy, Wilson, Brooks, Ched, Lavery TBH.

Cole looks like a 'poor mans' DCL,i'm afraid that these sort of footballers do nothing for me,the strange thing is that they seem to attract interest and often move for decent money.I obviously don't know anything about football, what a waste of 58 years...........bugger !!!

If it was a straight choice between Cole and Wilson...then our esteemed squadron leader has made the correct choice. Again.

Wilson is a far better player and we might just land ourselves a brilliant bargain player lo g term if all the stars align in our favour. Worse case scenario, we send him back in May. We wouldn't have been able to do that with a misfiring Cole.

I know we all want the perfect team now but we’ve only been in championship 6 months.

It may take another 1-2 windows to remove the dead wood and get a perfect team. But as of right now I don’t think anyone could have done any better.

Not much point watching Leicester vs. Fleetwood tonight then?
Q. "How did Devante Cole do?"
A. "DFC"

Ah, refreshing to hear a considered, sensible opinion. You may well be right. Of course no one would turn their nose up at a chance of promotion sooner than later, but there's also nothing wrong with the type of preparation necessary to make us fit for purpose. Achieving promotion would be wonderful, but it would be better still if we sensed we had a chance of remaining there. Every team wants those prized commodities, a couple of rated goal scorers plus a defence that's as mean as can be. So far it's clear to me that Wilder is building towards this, and on budgets that most managers would struggle with. No complaints here Chris. UTMB
