pitch looking fine today
it looks a long way from the stand to the touchline ,certainly narrowing the play
When it was decided that we were to acquire a state of the art pitch I assumed there would be 3 benefits:
1 less likelihood of games being called off in dad weather
2 a superior surface to encourage slick passing and forward momentum
3 an advantage over other teams used to playing on surfaces akin to ploughed fields
1 as yet unproven
2&3 dead in the water after the last 2 matches
it seems to be enouraging the opposition.. they think they're at f*ckin' wembleyNeed good players for number 2 kid...
I could name a few posters who will tell you (having not been) that the last 2 games wew like watching the grass growLoughboroBlade Monday's have not been the same without the latest episode of watching the grass grow![]()

Looking at recent results... so do we!it seems to be enouraging the opposition.. they think they're at f*ckin' wembley
No, trust me, I was at both games and stayed to the final whistles and watching the grass grow was much more excitingI could name a few posters who will tell you (having not been) that the last 2 games wew like watching the grass grow![]()
I noticed the one that bounce right over his head, couldn't have misjudged it that much!....also happened with a ball in towards Sammon.
Being in exile I've only seen the pitch once this season, and it looked immaculate. What's the verdict so far peeps?
And if it's still shit then think yourself lucky we still have a football clubJudge it in January.
They won't be cancelled due to the pitch though BB, it will be because of the safety of supporters travelling to the ground from places like Germany(I think) to get to one matchWhy do I suspect that the posters moaning about the pitch would be moaning when we had to cancel games in the winter?
They won't be cancelled due to the pitch now, just snow. They won't be cancelled due to the pitch though BB, it will be because of the safety of supporters travelling to the ground from places like Germany(I think) to get to one match![]()
I'm happy we got the pitch done, we just need some players to play on it now. They won't be cancelled due to the pitch now, just snow.
With the benefit of hindsight it looks like we could have waited until we were promoted to do the pitch. But unless we were in the PL, where a million or so doesn't make a huge impact on your budget, there's never going to be a time when it would be better to spend the money on the pitch and not the team.
