Sheffield United could offer a role to Des Taylor even if the American takeover falls through.

The former scout has been in charge of transfers for the consortium over the summer while talks have taken place.

He's Chief Scout. Not head of recruitment. I would imagine that if we were to employ Taylor at some point, he would be brought in as HoR (a role which i think Paul Mitchell undertook). I got the impression that after SUFC did a review of the recruitment strategy (and moved PM on), the end goal was to bring in a CS (Hoyland getting that role) and a HoR to take some weight off Wilder/Knill and Bettis with the latter basically running thr full show not specifically recruitment. Taylor would probably fill a role/void in our recruitment team.

No he's just a member of the recruitment team, can't remember who it is but we announced it just before Euros this summer I think.

Don't know for certain obviously, but I would suggest that whilst he was probably heavily involved in the recruitment last summer (which was a tough ask tbf but really poor in hindsight as we've shifted the vast majority of them on), I don't think it's realistic to think the Grbic signing would have been on his shoulders. I think that one sits with some cretin sat in the United World tree. In fact, I seem to recall the Princes mouthpiece Dago Daz saying on Twatter that the person responsible for it was still involved with the club/in the UW family. Might have been PA himself for all we know. All we know for certain is that someone got it badly wrong.

I suspect the GK coach is at least consulted as part of any incoming keeper. If so, he may need his eyes checking too
