You better E Mail Sky Sports. They have made the decision many support your view on this
We all know the arrogance of the media when it comes to match scheduling but to my mind this is on a different level. My single email of complaint is futile. It needs a much broader response.

You can either not go to the game or take part in the biggest memorial in the city?

It's not like football ignores it.

Add my name ,B56s avatar ,Franks Fanny list , Nicks top 10 ruthless put downs and Captain Ms long words - they’ll change it

Normally I’d agree with you it’s about individual choice but I think in this case the two events are incompatible. A solemn, respectful remembrance service a hour before kick off will not be possible with even a minority of supporters loud and pissed up in the City centre with the inevitable heavy policing, sirens etc.

Other than sky playing fake crowd noises over the last post/silence tributes it worked before when it was on a Friday night if I recall....

The Remembrance service in the City has never been on a Friday night.

The game shouldn't even have been scheduled for remembrance weekend in the first place. Looking at the way fixtures are determined someone could have foreseen a potential problem - it seems they can change fixtures (before they are published) according to this article:

Ive sent an email.

How has it taken some supporters this long to recognise this??
We were talking about it the day the fixtures were released, and the whole week that followed!???

Not sure it's a great idea to hold a minute's silence and the Last Post at this match. Still, Sky and the EFL know best.

I thought the whole point behind putting the TV fixture scheduling out early was to allow people to plan earlier .
I've no doubt there will be remeberence events that don't clash and of course the following day is armistice . I think there will be enough opportunity for people who wish to attend a rememberance event and the match to do both.

I don't think the main worry is that people will be unable to attend other remembrance events. It's the fact that a solomn occasion will be marked at a highly-charged event in front of 30k fans, half of whom will be pissed up, who hate each other with a passion, in a fixture that hasn't been played in over five years.

BTW in my experience people who want to drink beforehand are going to do so regardless of kick off time. I remember early KOs in the past where I've been more pissed than usual due to drinking the same amount faster. And while it may keep fans from clashing in the city centre pre-match, it will be over by 2pm and many fans will head into the centre afterwards. Most Wednesday fans have little option if they want to get home by public transport.

Fair enough but no doubt there will be the normal laying of wreaths / last post followed by a highly charged , passion filled local Derby.

I actually think the best solution is to hold the ceremony bit at 11.25-11.30 , not admit anyone to the ground between 11.25 and 11.32 , encourage anyone who wishes to attend to do so before then . Players can interrupt warm up for a few minutes.

People then have a choice and its more likely to be observed impeccably by those in the ground at that time .

Read the other day that both clubs raised concerns about the kick off time but South Yorkshire Police won’t allow a kick off time later than 12 o clock

Seem to remember a fairly recent derby game having a late afternoon / early evening KO time

My concerns are not with what happens in the ground but what happens at 11.00am at Barker’s Pool.

I'm sure others have contacted SYP/Sky etc about this, but I've put together the following email. Before I send it, does anyone have any points to add? It will be sent to the following people (any other suggestions welcome):

To whom it may concern.

I am writing this email to register my concerns with the timing of the football match between Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday 10th November at noon.

I believe that this fixture was moved from its original kick-off time at the request of either Sky TV or South Yorkshire Police. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My three main concerns with the timing of this fixture are as follows:

1. I expect that a large number of those attending the match would like to pay their respects at Remembrance events around the city and further afield. The kick-off time won't allow people to attend both a Remembrance event and the football match. Remembrance Sunday is an important day in our calendar, with many people remembering those who gave their lives for us.

2. The biggest Remembrance event usually takes place at Barkers Pool in Sheffield city centre. When the event is taking place, thousands of football supporters will be making their way through the city towards Bramall Lane, or to pubs and bars around Barkers Pool to watch the game. Given the rivalry between the two clubs, this will undoubtedly mean a lot of noise, potential disorder and therefore disrespectful disruptions to the Remembrance events.

3. There will no doubt be plans by Sheffield United to invite supporters to respect the laying of the wreaths, the last post and to observe a silence before the game. This is usually held directly prior to kick-off, meaning it will take place as many supporters are entering the ground. Whilst 99.9% of supporters will undoubtedly respect the silence, those entering the ground at the time may not be aware of the silence taking place, meaning there may be chanting/noise during the silence. From experience at previous matches, it only takes ONE person out of 30,000+ supporters to break the silence, resulting in other supporters shouting/booing their displeasure at said person, disrupting it further.

My overall concern with the terrible decision to stage this game on Sunday 10th November at 12 pm, is that it could potentially paint the city of Sheffield in a negative light and won't allow people to remember as they would normally. The game is being broadcast on Sky Sports, so the world will be watching the city.

This game already tends to spill over with emotion. Adding this issue into the mix could worsen the situation.

My request is for those involved to rethink this decision if possible. If it is too late to do so, then I would suggest the following actions are considered:

1. Place a police cordon around Barkers Pool and the surrounding streets, with extra police presence.

2. The bars around Barkers Pool to be closed until 12pm, including the Wetherspoons etc.

3. Decision makers at Sky Sports to liaise with Sheffield United to give thought to the timing for the Remembrance ceremony in the ground to be held. Holding the ceremony directly before kick-off as fans enter the ground could be a recipe for disaster.

4. Inform all supporters well in advance, and again on the day of the game, of the timings of the ceremony in the ground, using official club websites, social media and any other means of reaching supporters.

5. Instruct turnstile/concourse stewards to inform supporters when the planned silence is imminent.

6. Use signage outside the ground, on the concourses and on the stadium's big screen to inform supporters of events.

Since the news of the kick-off change was announced, all supporters I have been in contact with (United and Wednesday) expressed their displeasure with the change. The thoughts expressed in my email, therefore, are shared by thousands of Sheffield football supporters and therefore should be taken seriously.

I write this email for no benefit to myself, but to allow the residents of Sheffield to pay their respects in their own way on this important day, and to ensure the city of Sheffield doesn't suffer negative publicity as a result of the potential issues that may arise.

I doubt they'll be much bother before kick off and wouldn't be surprised if lots of pubs in centre are closed at least untill after kick off with any open very heavily policed.
It's a shame as I'd love to see a 3pm kick off on the day , they'll be no more people at the match and no more away supporters than most of last season .
Strange how Manchester derby's can be held at 3.30pm kick offs .
