We all know the arrogance of the media when it comes to match scheduling but to my mind this is on a different level. My single email of complaint is futile. It needs a much broader response. You better E Mail Sky Sports. They have made the decision many support your view on this
Add my name ,B56s avatar ,Franks Fanny list , Nicks top 10 ruthless put downs and Captain Ms long words - they’ll change itWe all know the arrogance of the media when it comes to match scheduling but to my mind this is on a different level. Just incase you aren’t actually taking the piss, we’re on about the pigsWe play Derby in September and February both are 3pm kick offs ?
Other than sky playing fake crowd noises over the last post/silence tributes it worked before when it was on a Friday night if I recall....Normally I’d agree with you it’s about individual choice but I think in this case the two events are incompatible. A solemn, respectful remembrance service a hour before kick off will not be possible with even a minority of supporters loud and pissed up in the City centre with the inevitable heavy policing, sirens etc.
The Remembrance service in the City has never been on a Friday night.Other than sky playing fake crowd noises over the last post/silence tributes it worked before when it was on a Friday night if I recall....
Ive sent an email. The game shouldn't even have been scheduled for remembrance weekend in the first place. Looking at the way fixtures are determined someone could have foreseen a potential problem - it seems they can change fixtures (before they are published) according to this article:

I don't think the main worry is that people will be unable to attend other remembrance events. It's the fact that a solomn occasion will be marked at a highly-charged event in front of 30k fans, half of whom will be pissed up, who hate each other with a passion, in a fixture that hasn't been played in over five years.I thought the whole point behind putting the TV fixture scheduling out early was to allow people to plan earlier .
I've no doubt there will be remeberence events that don't clash and of course the following day is armistice . I think there will be enough opportunity for people who wish to attend a rememberance event and the match to do both.
Fair enough but no doubt there will be the normal laying of wreaths / last post followed by a highly charged , passion filled local Derby.I don't think the main worry is that people will be unable to attend other remembrance events. Seem to remember a fairly recent derby game having a late afternoon / early evening KO timeRead the other day that both clubs raised concerns about the kick off time but South Yorkshire Police won’t allow a kick off time later than 12 o clock
My concerns are not with what happens in the ground but what happens at 11.00am at Barker’s Pool.Fair enough but no doubt there will be the normal laying of wreaths / last post followed by a highly charged , passion filled local Derby.
I actually think the best solution is to hold the ceremony bit at 11.25-11.30 , not admit anyone to the ground between 11.25 and 11.32 , encourage anyone who wishes to attend to do so before then . Players can interrupt warm up for a few minutes.
People then have a choice and its more likely to be observed impeccably by those in the ground at that time .

I doubt they'll be much bother before kick off and wouldn't be surprised if lots of pubs in centre are closed at least untill after kick off with any open very heavily policed. My concerns are not with what happens in the ground but what happens at 11.00am at Barker’s Pool.
Strange how Manchester derby's can be held at 3.30pm kick offs .
