Deliberately playing weakened teams

Thought back to this thread in mind of Tuesday night's team selection. Cardiff are on fire at the moment, whilst it would be good to get our 'default' first 11 more experience at this level I think it would be nice to rest a few and try something different.

There is no real pressure so I'd like to see the likes of Wright, Brayford, Brooks, Lavery, Lafferty, Eastwood, Evans and even Hanson a chance to show what they can do in a competitive environment at this level at this club. We're outsiders for this one, easy for me to say as I'm not going, but hope we learn something in the process.

Been to Happy Hour straight after work?

It's simple. Play your best team as often as possible. Attain as many league points as possible. Get as far in the cups as possible. Reach your club's seasonal objective as early as possible. Thereafter you have earned the right to pick whatever team you like from your squad of registered players. And no one else can complain.
An expression I learned from several years living in Spain and following Sporting Gijon, a yo yo team there, refers to "getting your homework done in time"...if others haven't done theirs that's their problem.

An unlike button would be good for posts like this. We need to pick our strongest 11.

That might mean a start for Duffy, maybe Wright or Lafferty. 2 or 3 changes maximum for fresh legs.

Do we even honestly in what our strongest 11 is?

There's only one way to find out, perhaps wholesale changes are too much but a handful could refresh things.

Would be delighted to be proved wrong on all this of course

the manager is employed, paid, and or sacked on getting results. This is done on a game by game basis, but also a bigger picture. If CW plays a weaker team in the check-a-bollox trophy, but gets us in the playoffs, i suggest we organise a bucket run at half time to all chip in to pay off the £3k fine, and stick 2 fingers up the arse of the FA.

If he does that this year, I'll pay the £3k fine myself! :D

Agree (to a point) and agree.
Of the listed players I only see Lafferty as 2nd string, Hanson as a specialist (ie to be picked when a specific job is required- I'll do the reaching the top shelf at the supermarket joke myself etc) so any of the others would fit the first 11 without batting an eyelid. That is the nature of the squad Wilder has built.
