This time two seasons ago I think it's fair to say many of us were expecting some significant signings that never materialised. Then came Christmas and the JTW nothing, then came the summer and we expected a summer rebuild only to get a trickle of squad players from Scotland, Derby and Blackpool.

That strategy has left New Nige with a very large squad and I would imagine a large wage bill hampering what he can do (FFP) without getting rid of a few players before more than Wolly and Sharpy can join the ranks.

It might have been the plan to get a couple of CH's and a keeper as well but if there has been a lack of offers and contract ends the club will be limited on more signings.

Think New Nige will get a lot more out of the players he's inherited but a bit of a cull (maybe in the forward and MF positions) might be necessary before we see any more incoming, but then again I might be wrong.

Those with spare cash may have splashed a little but those whi need to sell on first are not doing much.

It would be nice to start the new season with our chosen best first eleven , including all new signings . This then means we have the strongest first 11 from day one kick off .

Cannot see this happening , and the only worry is , we drop some points and pay the penalty at the end of the season.

All a bit of a player / financial balancing act , but Clough left us in good health in certain positions , and not in others.

Adkins knew all this de-tangling requirements when he accepted the job.

Still very positive , and the younger end players could really shine this season , with Wallace , Coutts , Higdon , its pay back time .

CB is still make do and mend IMO.

Maybe we will get a idea of the anticipated first 11 tommorrow.

Think loans.

And even let your imagination run wild that we could have a manager get them right. (It's anyone's guess whether he can)

Under no circumstances think Craig Beattie or John Cofie.

I don't know how he'll move on players with no value like Alcock.
