choudray would have been my choice but think him and soumare are too similar peck is our weak link in midfield it does look like hes another sulking after wilders exit if we carry on playing 433 we need another big physical athletic type in there with hamer and soumare
I think we kind of have to turn it into a de-facto 4231 with Soumare and AN Other doing most of the defensive duties leaving Hamer to roam between the wide men and behind the striker

Agreed , but the manager must wake up
If he doesn't, at least Ryanair flights back to Spain are pretty reasonable. A lot depends on who else he gets in and how they perform once they're here.

Selles' system clearly doesn't work but he's not been helped by not having a lot of his squad in place to execute it either.

All a bit chicken and egg but in the cold light of day, we've been dreadful so far and its up to him to change that, otherwise he's out on his ear and the owners will have been made to look very foolish, very early on.

Just a thought but isn't Ben Godfrey supposed to be able to play defensive mid? He could be the answer if we sign another right back like Woo.
I think he would be brilliant there
Also would like to see brooks more central ( although I appreciate now is probably not the time to start experimenting)

I suspect that will be an option. Personally, I'd be looking to play 5-3-2/5-2-2-1 with two DMs sitting deep, allowing the wingbacks to sit back. Having players like Godfrey who can play multiple positions helps with a formation like that.

I agree re formation too. I'm not happy with 433 at present.
I have no idea why you'd play 4:3:3 without having 3 midfield players who can play box to box.

You could play:

Peck-----------Soumare----------Arblaster

Soumare protects the CBs. The other two protect the fullbacks. 2 of the 3 up top can concentrate on pressing and finding space.

Brooks could play in a mindfield three more so than further up as a winger. But his defensive side might need to improve. He can drive forward well from midfield though.

He used to play in midfield but I think it was more of an attacking midfielder. My worry would be his distribution as he tends to run into trouble.

have to agree booker if selles wants to continue this 433 we need a better winger than brooks might be interesting to try seriki up there but i would like us to go 3412 think campbell and ings could form a very good partnership as a front 2

Just go 3 atb and let Seriki and Burrows loose because Barry isn't cutting it with his predictable cut inside and stop nonsense and neither is Brooks.
