Before yesterday I recall Brian Gayle with 2 headers away to Man city, and Kevin Gage with two braces, one v Luton away in a 6 3 win, one v Bristol City in same 94 95 season.

Eddie Colquhoun scored twice either in the 5-0 win against Villa in Nov 69 or in the 6-0 win against Brum a few weeks later. Colin Franks was an Utility player and I am not sure if he was playing in defence when he got both goals in the 2-0 win at Orient in April 77

Bert went to both those games when we had big wins, he also recalls our Edmund scoring twice in one game on another occasion...both own goals.
Bert's memory is unable to inform him when it was though.

Yes you are correct, Tranmere away, two penalties by Kenworthy Finished 2-2.

I could be wrong on this but I seem to have a recollection that Pembo scored two own goals in one game when he played for us I the early 90's. I was stood on the John St West and one of them was an awesome strike (slice)... So I know he definitely scored one, but I'm sure he bagged a brace of own goals... Possibly against Man City... I've drunk a lot of alcohol since then

Bolton did get two against Rotherham (LC 3/9/85), but he was playing in midfield that day.

Kenworthy also got 2 goals home to Carlisle on 15/11/80 (one a pen) and at Halifax on 12/4/82 (one also a pen).

That awesome slice was in the 1-1 draw with Man City on 9/4/93. I don't think he ever got 2 og's in one game.

Colquhoun's goals were on 22/11/69 against Villa. He got one against Birmingham on 13/12/69. I think Franks was playing up front v Orient on 16/4/77.
