Always find the As yet untapped potential of new signings exciting. We have 3 potential debutants for Norwich on Saturday. Not to mention Wilson looking for a first start.

Do we see any of them pushing for a start or getting on on Saturday?

Wilder has been fairly consistent in selections over his time here - partially because people have done well enough not to be dropped and partially because i think he likes a settled side.

I suspect Holmes will get on if we need a goal but fell like evans / Leonard May have to bide their time... like lundstram did initially

Anyone heard anything to suggest otherwise?

I can see Holmes & Leonard both starting....both long term targets of CW which he obviously rates highly so I think he will want them in and hitting the ground running.

Up front is an interesting position for me at the moment....Leon is a bit off at the moment and is maybe running on empty....The Don puts a shift in but sometimes doesn't look capable of scoring and it looks like Billy is going to struggle to feature from now on...could we see Wilson starting in place of either Leon or Don? I doubt it for now and would think he will be on the bench.

I wouldn't mind seeing the following line-up tomorrow;

Moore

Baldock
Bash
Stearman
JOC
Enda

Lundstram
Fleck
Leonard

Holmes

Clarke

Bench - Blackman, Duffy, Don, Wilson, Evans, Wright, Lafferty

Agree that Holmes will probably feature from the bench and perhaps one of the others depending on how the game is going.

If the established starting 11 don't deliver though I can see a few changes being made for the Villa game [aside of any other rotation for the cup match]

That might seem harsh but we are hitting the business end now and results really matter. We have just clung onto 6th but we should still be pushing for 2nd. To finish outside of the top 6 now would be hugely disappointing.

With 7 points from the last 30 and a potential 11th place waiting for us tomorrow at 5pm I'm still wondering if everyone hasn't been hypnotised or something.

I think a lot of our players are running on empty and the new arrivals have come in early to freshen the mix up a bit if the season isn't just going to fizzle out. Tufty, as ever, has been on the ball with this one.

That said, I can also see our current set up is better suited to away games where Lundstram can just tackle and hit it long to Leon and The Don because we get a lot more space. We were a much better proposition at Villa and Derby than at home against Bolton and Them.

So, small chance we might not make any changes tomorrow, large chance they new players will get a run out either from the off or the bench, but essential they start next home game for me.

^^ this

think CW made hints about us not being up to it in the final third against the filth and previous games and our set plays /crosses have been poor recently
as said above we have to go for it and take on the challenge of the top 6- which is a very strong possibility given where we are at present

would not be suprised to see Len ( or Evans - have a feeling he will be a great player for us ! ) , Holmes and Fleck in the middle

would imgaine leon will get the nod as will the Don as felt he was our main threat against the other lot

interesting you think that Leonard is the one most likely to start in the centre off the park. I feel like lundstram is the one who’s position is most under threat - and Evans seems the most coutts like from what I’ve read....

Also wonder if we’ll see Duffy and Holmes in the side! Duffy has been arguable one of our top performers and has been spurred on by brooks development. He’s key to us keeping the ball in a way that o don’t think is Holmes natural game. Is there room for both the craft and dynamism?

My starting XI would be what started against the Pigs except Leonard for Lundstrum. Thinking about it maybe Lafferty for Stevens.

Norwich will be exhausted from that Chelsea game. I can see Leon & The Don having a field day personally. Their physicality will not be a welcome prospect for their back 4 / 5 after getting the run around for 200 odd minutes only a few days ago. I reckon we swap Lundstram for someone who is capable of moving the ball quicker (be that Evans or Leonard) and leave the rest of the side as it is.

We’ve been too slow in possession for the last month & a bit and allow the opposition to get men behind the ball before we attack them. We’re capable of cutting defences to bits with nice intricate football, but we don’t do it often enough to just allow the opposition to settle. Get at them quickly & with intelligent football (rather than kicking it long at Clarke & Donaldson) and we’ll win quite comfortably IMO.

Can see Leonard starting in midfield to try and stop that Maddison.

Wilson to start with Clarke.

Not sure Evans should be in for any of our midfielders.

Maybe Holmes to start for Duffy.

However have to think next week in the cup our new players won’t be able to play, so maybe a perfect start for all of them.

Yeh with the additions it’s going to make for an interesting team sheet tomorrow & certainly adds a bit more spice to things . My gut feeling is he’ll start with the same starting 11 but with Sharp alongside Clark after being out of the picture of recent no reason for that just a inkling .
With the midfield I think Fleck is the only given , you’d look as Holmes as the naturally attacking option so with that you’d think it’d be between him & Duffy , then Lunny vs Leonard as the more deeper midfieler :
Evans is the one I don’t know too much about : I don’t think he’ll go for wholesale change to start with as he’ll want to introduce them into the system which didn’t happen overnight.
They’ll be targeting this game like Preston did that a win puts them on the fringes , I just hope we do t turn in a Preston performance again neither tomorrow or between now & May!
With them being at home they’ll have to co e out & attack us this time so I think it will be an entirely different game to at ours , gonna go for us getting that long overdue win ...2-1 the lads

Like that.

I think the Holmes signing gives us the opportunity to see, Leonard, Lundstram and Fleck all in the same team. Holmes can play off Clarke whereas I don't feel Duffy could.

When Duffy plays, I imagine Leonard or Lundstram misses out

Bang on, for me. Multiple likes.

Can see us changing formation slightly and going with 2 tens behind a lone striker.

Probably Duffy and Holmes behind Leo.

UTB

I fully expect Leovanstram to start start in midfield.

I think Manbun will get on the pitch regardless but it's unlikely he'll start.
