Dean Henderson

Get him back on loan is our best bet I think.

I'd love to sign him, I think first choice keeper should be our number one priority whatever happens so if £20-30m would get him (maybe with some discounts for Man U if they want him back) then we should.

This summer will be our last chance, and it'll be expensive but if we're a Premier League team, he's a quality investment.

Not a chance in hell he will sign for us permanently. Unfortunately/fortunately he is improving at a rate of knotts, and I get the feeling that if he isn't in Man Utds first team next season then another one of the big boys will come in for him (either here or abroad). He will be England's number 1 within the next 18 months in my opinion.

We are one of the big boys.

There's no way he's worth 30-40m.

Angus Gunn was sold for 12m and he's of similar experience. Man U are clear in what they think of him. De Gea is on 350k a week for the foreseeable, they have Romero who is their clear no2 and there's rumours of them in the market for another keeper.

So where exactly does that leave Hendo?

I believe he wants to play for Man United that’s his long term target, it’s hard for him in many ways as De Guay has signed a six year contract, so unless they decide to cash in on him for big money at some point, can’t really see him getting a look in
It would be soul destroying sitting on the bench for a few years with just the odd game after playing non stop for the past few years and would also hinder his England chances big time

Not of similar quality though.

Leno at Arsenal was £19m, I think he's quite good (plays behind a shite defence though), I think that'd be fair.

Angus gunn isn't half the keeper Henderson is and we were quoted 20mil last summer... Its going to be a lot more next summer when Henderson is proven in the premier league

They can quote what they like, doesn't mean they're going to get it.

Who pays 20m for a keeper without a single premier league appearance.

We paid 20mil for a striker without any Premier league experience....... We all knew how good Henderson was last year so we knew he would star in this league

Strikers generally go for more than goalkeepers.

And McBurnie has played in the Prem prior to us.

OK..... How many times.if you think we are going to have man utd pants down for one of there most promising youngsters then you live in dream land

What exactly is having their pants down? 15m, 20m?

For example, the Heir apparent to Neuer at Bayern is going to leave on a free at the end of the season and he'll only be 20. I think we'd be far better off going there.

Additionally, he might harbour desires to play for Man U, but he's not getting anywhere near their first team whil ever De Gea is there. What's more, if De Gea leaves there's more chance of them buying Donnarumma or Oblak to replace.

So if he's not going to get games at Man U, who else is going to buy him?

Can't see any of the current top 10 guaranteeing him first team football and teams in the bottom half aren't going to spend what you believe he's worth.

Pointless argument anyway, he doesn't want to leave Man U, I feel he will have to though or his career might stagnate.

I don't think we can afford him, and I don't think he wants to come permanently, as much as he loves it here. He sees being first choice at Old Trafford as a goal he's working towards. And with the current decline of their squad (and the likelihood DDG will want out and deserves better) and Henderson's fast upward trajectory, it's entirely plausible in the next 24 months. The best we can hope for is to enjoy him whilst he's here. Maybe even another season long loan, if DDG gives Old Trafford another year beyond this one.

Crazy, bizarrely, in this amazing journey we're on, his huge dream of being Man United's number 1 would be a big step backwards at the minute in terms of how our two sides are playing, the form we're in, the squad unity we have and the style/blueprint we have. SUFC has its ship in much better order than MUFC.

Hence why he stays at the lane and we develop him for them while they charge us for the privilege..... He could be back on loan next summer again but feel that will be the last we see of him in a utd shirt..... Then again if they come calling for a defender then we may be in the box seat

Spurs possibly.

I'd be more than happy to take him on loan for another season... wonder what they'd wanna charge next season though :-o

If he were to sign would we pay his reputed £70k a week wages? I doubt it as then most of the squad will be knocking on Chris Wilders door asking for a very substantial pay rise.

if we finish top hslf all of them will deserve a substantial pay rise, no?

Not sure what’s you’ve taken this morning but I hope you get the help you need ;)

Man U want Onana too don't they?

At some point, Henderson is going to have to have a think about his career considering who he's behind at Man U.

Doesn't mean we'll be the only ones in for him though if they're open to selling.

Would pay £20m if it was a McB type signing (coming from lower leagues). But no, he will be £20m plus mental wages

Just imagine being the Sheff Utd captain and this 22yo gk from man u comes and plumps for double/triple your wage. Nah.

I am saying let’s loan him again if we cannot find a keeper as good or better. I dont actually care if man utd are using us, fuck it, he has been amazing value at £2m for the season!

If we can get him on loan again, I'd say having Dean Henderson for 3 years will be about right for his career trajectory.

He's a fantastic keeper and in a couple of years will surely be England's best bet.

Pickford doesn't seem to be maturing, Pope is making more and more clangers, and Heaton is old.

I honestly don't see Henderson getting a chance at Man U at all. DDG just signed a massive deal that I doubt any other team in the world would take on. Playing full time at Sheffield U will get him noticed by Southgate & is his best career choice. 20 mill is cheap !!
