TBH GCB I'm struggling to think of a better available GK mate, I do think 10-12m would buy him.

If you can get Man Utd to agree to a price of £10-12m, you should immediately be installed to the Board and a status built in your honour.

If he continues to progress, especially if he becomes established in the England squad/team, I suspect they'll be looking for much closer to £40-50m for him

I'm talking current form apart from us he's no PL experience yes we may have to nudge up to better McB fee but, IMO no player worth it, no player. I would not want us paying 40-50m, for any player as there isn't one worth that amount.

I like him, he's good, and offers a lot more to the team than just his goalkeeping skills.
I just wonder whether we should be setting our sights a bit higher, rather sticking with CW's tactics of recruiting from teams lower down the leagues.....
Could one enquire as to who you have in mind?

10-12 million is an absolutely ridiculous amount of money for muppets like us but for a premier league footballer sadly its peanuts these days so if we could buy him for anywhere near that we should snap him up because imo we really need to have our own keeper in the sticks and not one on loan .

Not a chance in hell he will sign for us permanently. Unfortunately/fortunately he is improving at a rate of knotts, and I get the feeling that if he isn't in Man Utds first team next season then another one of the big boys will come in for him (either here or abroad). He will be England's number 1 within the next 18 months in my opinion.

If he were to sign would we pay his reputed £70k a week wages? I doubt it as then most of the squad will be knocking on Chris Wilders door asking for a very substantial pay rise.

To be honest I don't think we can afford him. There'd be little left for squad strengthening if we paid full whack for him in the summer. What was his price, about 75 million?

50m? He’s good don’t get me wrong and I thought he had an excellent game yesterday, but modern keepers that go for that kind of money make saves that you can’t believe have been made and are excellent with their feet.

Hendo currently does neither of those things. Double figures fine, but I will be astounded if he goes for more than 20 unless he gets a lot better.

He’s improved since last season though. Manages his box a lot better.

I think a deal could be done for under £30 Million, but only if it included a buy-back clause.
You would think he'd be in favour as while he wants to replace DDG, it ain't happening in the next 2-3 years possibly even 5, as DeGea is only just 29.
The trick would be to ensure that clause is at a high enough level to satisfy both clubs, maybe that they get first refusal or similar.

There’s no reason to suggest that he wouldn’t at least come back on loan to us next season.

Man Utd have a better keeper on their books with De Gea and have been actively scouting potential replacements. Everyone is keeping their options open.

I’m quite sure that a deal could be structured to buy him at circa £20m.

It's complete speculation of course, but my take is that an initial £25mil, then staggered payments based on international appearances, where we finish in this division, all of which could rise to £40-45million. I think he's worth it, he loves working with our goalkeping coach, and he's clearly at home here

I know he has ambitions at MU, but perhaps a dose of reality about where his immediate career might best be served, with the possibility should MU meet our valuation that they get first bite at any possible transfer. Peanuts to them but at least it might secure a very promising keeper.

I know what you mean CM about loan but surely buying gives more security I know he's a Man Utd player but not gunna get a game.

We should have bought last Sumner but Chris wanted to spend all our transfer budget on forwards.... This shop as sailed now and he will be beyond our reach next Summer unless we. An get him back on loan

I think we should push the boat out for him, he likes us, we like him. we saw what we were missing last week, if him and Egan had been playing we'd have won 2-0.

Agree but he’s seen as a future Man Utd and England number1.
He’s still very young so has loads of time.

Suspect they’d want at least 30 million. Don’t think he’s worth that to us.
Also Henderson is a big Man Utd and it’s been his life long dream to play for them.
Unless they tell him he’s not good enough and not wanted then suspect he’s not interested in a move anywhere.

The only possibility is to create a mutually attractive contract
For example we buy him for 25 million but give Man Utd 1st option to buy back in 5 years time,

He’s destined to be an elite level player. Let’s just enjoy him whilst he’s here.
