Sign him for £15 million when we go up
Sell him back for £100 million when we go down
£15m is about what we’d have to pay realistically. Angus Gunn (who Deano has been keeping out the England U21 team) went from City to Southampton for around £13m in the summer after spending last season at Norwich.
I’d like to think we’d pay those sort of fees if we went up...

If all things go well with us, he'll have a big decision to make in the summer. If he continues to excel with us, he'll sadly be no closer to being Man Utd's No. 1. De Gea is 27 and now that RM have Courtois, will be Man Utd's No. 1 keeper for at least the next 5 years. Hendo will then be faced with either going back on loan, and delaying the decision for another 12 months or getting a transfer.
Hendo is 21 and can play until he is 33, so look at the next 12 years as four periods of 3 years. Forming, storming, norming & performing. He's currently in the formative part of his career, and it is vital he gets 1st team football, in relatively big games, in front to relativity big crowds, at a decent standard and decent level of pressure. By the time he is 24 be a premier league player, by the time he is 27 be a full england international & maintain that level of performance until 33. I would suggest that he isn't premier league standard yet, and the sensible thing would be for us to have him for either a 2nd season or take him on a permanent with the understanding that if we aren't in the prem by the start of the 20/21 season, he can go to someone who is. Look at Harry Maguire as an example.
Last U21s game Henderson was in the net and Gunn was on the benchHe’s not keeping Angus Gunn out of the u21’s. Angus Gunn is now seen as England’s 3rd choice keeper.

Edit: and two games before that too
Should that be 5 fold or £18m?Yes indeed, we spent £3 million on Claude Davis last time. The money has gone up 6 fold since we were last there.
£15 million is only the new £3 million
Bloody facts, ruining a thread.......
Daily Mail?
I know what you are.........

. Butland is proven at PL level and has earned call ups to the England side. So probably him. But as it’s not my decision, I’m not going to spend too much time thinking about it. (Save that for the end of the season when we’re all posting nonsense because we’re bored).
It just reminds me of all the wanking about Blackman last season, Brayford, Jon Harley. It’s like we can’t just enjoy the moment. It’s like being unable to shag a lass without thinking ‘it’s really gonna hurt when she dumps me’.
Just appreciate him while he’s here.

Thing is, if De Gea was to go, they’d get around 80 million for him if not more. I cant see them banging Deano between the sticks if they recieve a fee like that for a keeper. Surely they’d go out and spend around the same fee on a new keeper? Oblak or someone such as, and surely that would be making Deano thinking his days are numbered. Hes good, but not Man U good at the minute.
He’ll at least be loaned - it was one of the conditions of him signing a new deal. Think MU will loan him to a Prem team to maximise his value if he is then sold. As for Butland, Stoke were talking £50m in the summer!!Is that a fact? I think so too, but I do feel like there's a remote chance he'll be sold.
I couldn't see us spending those sorts of fees immediately; we'd probably have to spread any transfer budget more evenly.
It's a shame though isn't it, because he's clearly got the potential, and a few years ago they would have brought him through.

Perhaps he will but Stoke’ll stand firm with the fee - as is their right as he’s their player. So think that one will be out of United’s reach whatever happens!Yeah I agree, another loan seems lost likely.
And Stoke can talk about £50m but they won't get that: he's worth half that, and I can see him forcing a move this summer, as I imagine he's growing weary of championship football.

What I meant was they won’t ask for £50m and then accept £5m if he kicks up a fussI doubt Stoke will "stand firm" on £50m.
And he is their player, but if he kicks up a fuss, he'll be gone- some would argue he's shown a lot of loyalty by staying with them beyond their relegation, I think that loyalty will be getting weary by the end of the season.
And I'm sure he is out of our reach too, I wasn't suggesting we sign him.

Henderson is a decent young keeper with promise. He’s made some good saves this season, he’s also made some ricks. His public persona? He’ll suck on whatever pickle gets put in his mouth. Let’s not get too carried away with it. This time next season, if he’s on loan Newcastle, he’ll be kissing the badge and baiting mackems.
