We'll never be able to afford him if he does well. If he doesn't, we won't want to buy him. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Our plan is to get promoted, earn millions and sign Jamal permanently. Simple really.

Jamal on a perm!?! He was easily beat from shots outside the box on too many occasions last year, not to mention his lack of control/leadership in our defense. Average Champ keeper at best. Hendo is a massive improvement.

Did we have a single player left on the pitch during the celebrations? Because once they've all left the pitch the other side can kick off, which I think is what Billy realised and sprinted back.
I think the rule is (if it even exists, which I'm not sure it does), is that if all the players from the team that scores are in the opposition half celebrating, then the other team can kick off, which pretty much means they've got an easy goal.

I spotted this at the time aswell. Like you say, he realised Henderson had ran over and no-one was left in our half so he sprinted back to stop Norwich kicking off.

It’s celebrating in your own half that’s the problem.

Question is do we save some money up and buy him!!!

Mentioned that to a Man Utd season ticket holder i work with. His response?

Can't see why not. He'd never heard of him before this season. Henderson is behind De Gea, Romero, Pereira (who is a very highly rated young GK) and they also have Lee Grant now as well.

The only issue is that Dean is a huge Man Utd fan who wants to play first team football for Man Utd.

Fast becoming a bit of a favourite...

If he develops with us, the plan is surely to have him on loan this season and probably next season too?

In that time, Man Utd will have moved on, and they will probably be more than happy to sell the lad for a reasonable fee with a buy back clause inserted to protect themselves. The issue is whether we are in the premier league then, whether he is good enough, and if so (and if we aren't there ourselves yet) whether he would then want to try elsewhere to get in the premiership.

Man Utd sold Sam Jonhnstone as they have greater designs, and I think Hendo's career will probably run the same path.

I think he will be 'gettable' idc.

Agreed, but Man U have pulling power they can sell him to us and they click there fingers and Hendo will run back as we all would. They sell him to us for a few million have a buy back price of say triple what we paid. Everyone wins.

Think as an investment it would be one of the smarter ones out there for us.

Must admit my confidence in Henderson from the Inter Milan game to the QPR/Norwich game is a huge change. keepers should have a bit of spike about them

Henderson massive improvement on last season. The on loan keeper we had last season you just knew when a shot from outside the box came in you were saying to yourself goal. Not with this new kid he looks a class act indeed

When are we ever confident of keeping a clean sheet ?
I've never really understood the term "goalkeepers keeping clean sheets".
Defenders keep clean sheets just as much as goalkeepers, if they constantly switch off like ours do you're asking the goalkeeper to produce miracles, and as miracles don't happen they'll eventually let one in if not protected properly.

Agree completely - but for Hendo to be a "legend" as some are already calling him after four games, surely he needs to keep a clean sheet through a series of good saves irrespective of his defence? I'm not saying he isn't a good goalkeeper or that he won't be an outstanding signing for us but I'm just tempering things a little. He's played four games, made one excellent save on Saturday but also flapped at a cross that could have cost us a goal. His passion is lovely to see but his main business - to be a legend - is to make saves and keep the ball out of the net to win us points. I'm not going overboard yet!

Fingers crossed that he continues to flourish, and becomes a legend as we all hope, even if it is only on the basis of one season at the Lane. It is too easy for a keeper to become the villain of the piece - Blackman was excellent for us last season, but not everyone was convinced. He let in a couple of goals that were debatable, but not howlers, and the debate started. Henderson's enthusiasm is infectious, and if he keeps progressing, he is going to be a huge personality in the game, as a real footballing lad. I love the fact that in his interview in the Star today he says he went on Tuesday to watch Shrewsbury, because he feels an affinity with them. That for a ManU kid is great to hear. If he carries on being loaned out regularly, he's going to end up 'belonging' at a whole load of clubs.

Everyone he claimed the ball and went to ground he smiled at g & h block. Had little to do today but easily claimed crosses.

Anyone know who/what was up with the bloke that came on the pitch at full time, shook Deano's hand then walked off and handed him self over to security?

In an age where professional footballers seem often to be distant and its just a job, up pops Hendo and he's just a breath of fresh air! It's no coincidence that the current squad is full of players who have connected with the club and the fans. Full credit to Wilder here for what he's assembled as well as the players.
