2+... murphy, che and all the others we've prematurely let go before we get where we want to be. History (mccabe n prince bog roll) keeps repeating itself... and we're still in the shit... nice one!

Maybe Wilder has just decided he needs to move on all of the previous managers players as much as is possible due to loyalties and disruption they are causing.
In Billy's case, it wouldn't be the first time he's left a club after a manager signed him and then left.

If Brayford was due hammer for his start to the season, then I'm afraid Sharp does too.

If that's his plan he should have done it in the close season, when there would have been a lot more to choose from in the way of replacements, rather than 3 games in.

There's no evidence of a plan at all, really, unless the plan is make the wage bill as cheap as possible.

Don't think wilder would have made sharp captain if he was gonna get rid immediately.

Having said that if our plan is to pump long balls 70 yards time after time then there's little point in sharp playing. It will be like his first and second spells here.

Seems to have gone worrying quiet on the incomings after the keeper - 2 were close before Tuesday still not signed. Presumably finances are holding it up so hopefully Brayford off wage bill will help.

In fairness, things change though. In the start Sharp might have been on board, he'd never played for Wilder so needed to get to know him. But as weeks pass he might have disagreements, both personally and on tactics.
Sharp might have been a big advocate for Adkins, and be struggling to adapt.
Maybe Wilder has seen deficiencies in Sharps game, he hadn't seen first hand and decided if he can find a buyer he will let him go.
Certainly what I have seen, McNulty (despite being a bit of a tit) offers as much as Sharp in terms of quality, and perhaps a bit quicker too. He will be cheaper, and if we could get him to settle down and concentrate on his football he could be a big asset.

Who knows really, everyone is guessing and speculating. But agree that there seems to be very little by way of a plan. Other than if there was a plan, the wheels seem to be falling off already!

Selling our better players - players with track records - smacks of trying to do too much, or doing things for the sake of it.

A good manager is someone who creates a team in which is greater than the sum of its individual parts. Warnock and Bassetts teams were good examples.
In the last few years it's been the opposite, we've had good players and ordinary players who no one has been able to get the best out of collectively except Clough in patches. But the solution isn't to get shut of the better players because they are under performing like Brayford is it?

Not making excuses, I'm well aware of the failures and repeated mistakes we have made of selling our few good players and getting less quality.

But on the other hand we have been sticking plasters over the problem for years, spending too much money on average due to desperation to get up? Putting too much pressure on a manager to get instant results has generally seen the results of such a misguided, rudderless and spineless policy. Complete failure.

Perhaps a clean sweep, completely new start and a change of tac was needed. But what I don't want to see is a scapegoat....in this case Wilder. He has been given a task not many would accept, and a task he feels he will get right. But it won't be done this season, so we as fans need to accept that now and try to support what he's doing. Getting on his back and that of the players will not help.

I admit, early doors I'm concerned that we are rebuilding with a view to hoof. But we have to let him do it, otherwise we are back to square one for the umpteenth time.

I look at it differently, but if players are giving it them all they don't get hammer. I don't disagree that he doesn't seem to fit.

Personally I think if we get rid of Sharp and Done, probably our 2 highest earners it will at least put the rest on some kind of parity. This is the only way I see this 'team is better than the sum of the parts' stuff working.

Wilders comments say it all......He wants more Pace up front.

He won't replace Clarke...so it stands to reason that he is looking to replace a Sharp with some pace.

That look to be the case...be interesting how line up today...

Atleast were finally playing league 1 style football, the pigs went up playing hoofball so we may aswell try it. We cant pass for shit so hoofing it might be the answer, after we get some practice at it.

The biggest problem we have right now is the partnership between Clarke and Sharp isn't working. For me it'd be Clarke up front and Sharp on the bench. Until we get better wingers and a centre mid I can't see 4-4-2 working as an alternative to the current 4-2-3-1 and Clarke in a deep role won't work with Billy's lack of pace, unless we surround Clarke with pace either side. That's probably Wilder's plan.

Maybe made him captain to keep him here.

They played hoof all under megson had he stayed they wouldnt have gone up. Under Jones they played with width getting crosses into the box. All I can see from us at the moment is mindless punts to a striker who has never been a target man in his career. I agree we need to be more direct but a warnock direct rather than a blackwell direct (which is what we are playing currently).

In reality, I'm sure we'll get a couple in to appease the masses.

Welcome to Bramall Lane.
Good call L

That would affirm BDTBL as office block and student flat fodder.

If they ever do build on the Lane in my lifetime I will make a point of going and sitting in some students flat as near to my seat as possible every other Satdi afternoon and odd Tuesday night.

My prediction is that prior to and on deadline day, what we bring in will be desperately, significantly short of what we need and that the fans will be disillusioned. Then Wilder and the side will take the flack for the board's failure to invest, before Wilder gets sacked later into the season, owing to the board's failings.

We NEED four (RCB, CM x 2, LM) and to desperately avoid losing anyone. We'll get 0 and some may leave.
