yes a big thankyou to him for taking the time to write such detailed reports, I always look forward to them after a game. A great writer.

Yes thanks to the pair of them. The time they spend for our enjoyment is much appreciated.

Great shout MrsDeadbat!

Only kidding, always worth a read and respect for him not just for taking the time and effort but for putting his head above the parapet every game. And generally meeting with approval. Takes some doing, well done DB.

Come on Blades. It would be a nice gesture if you provided tickets home and away to these guys A service to all who are unable to be at the game

Yes, if anyone could help me out by getting me a ticket for Northampton would be much appreciated!!! ;) Feeling it could be a huge moment in our recent history!

No, only kidding. I have no issues with the way tickets are done. Those that have gone week in, week out and all those long away trips deserved first dibs on those. I just missed out having 38.000 loyalty points and only doing maybe 4 or 5 away games a year now rather than the 8-10 I used to do.

I ask for nothing for doing the reports. Nice that fans who do not get or are exiled appreciate that I provide some kind of service though.

No need to buy me a pint. Still after a few classic SUFC shirts though that I would pay a good price if anyone knows of someone who may be willing to part (any of late 70's ones and either of the yellow away shirts - pre fluroscent one!). If someone could steer me to someone who might be willing to sell that would be a nice way to thank me!

Deadbats reports have been a huge highlight of the various Blades message boards for years now. He should get a testimonial soon.

I don't want a drink buying for me after the amount I've supped this weekend. Funnily enough probably the most pissed I've been since we got relegated against Wigan.

Thank you. Really appreciate it. Not always accurate. Had BAsham with the header cleared off the line on Saturday. It was O'Connell. I do make quite a few mistakes but most of the time I am pissed too be fair. As Roy says not sure I need more beer at the moment!

Your view from is the first thing I look for on a Saturday evening/Sunday morning (if you are lazy as me sometimes with my reports.....social life you say?)

As for testimonial I started around 2003-04 I think so being doing it 14 years. Keep thinking I will not bother but then I pick up the key board again and off I go ranting and raving!

Just use our tweets as a prompt like many others have over the years (can tell by the wording and the odd red herring intentionally thrown in :D), you'd have picked that one up :D

The 2 best reads on the forum - Deadbats reports even though I go to every match I love reading the reports to see how it compared to how I saw it and usually its almost total agreement with just a few areas of argument - but thats football as people see things differently (suspect a few liquid lubricants can sometimes change the view) ! Many thanks Deadbat -I cant wait for the end of season report this year !
Also many thanks to Roys view from which is like being addicted to drugs and getting your next fix ! Well done Roy

Really appreciate the reports - and they're normally spot on. I remember one season, think it was our second in League One, where even though we were winning Deadbat was regularly criticising the performances and perhaps hinting we were in a false position. Ended up dropping right off so he was proved right! Looking forward to the upcoming piece on our time in League One too. It's never been dull so looking forward to remembering the highs and many lows.

I'll get the League One restrospective up in a few weeks.

The season review/school report might take a bit longer but will upload first part soon after the last game and drip feed it each day after the season finishes and will try and have it all done by mid May.

I've got to echo all these sentiments...Big thanks Deadbat. I can't get to all the games so I always look forward to your detailed reports. And they've been such a pleasure to read this season!

I'm sooo looking forward to the end of season reports. Off to France for a few weeks in June, so I might save em all up til then.

Keep up the good work and thanks again

As an expat living in Melbourne I always look forward to your reports - a huge thanks from me.

Ah, but will you enjoy 'Compared to last season' as much next season? ;)
But what will you compare to? If it is the last season we had in the Championship then I'm sure it will an improvement.

.... But which season will you be comparing to Graf? Decisions decisions

It's something I've given plenty of thought to. To compare 2017-18 to this season would be futile (unless we get 100 points in the Championship...) It would be like comparing apples and pears. Or Wilder and Adkins.

That's why I changed this season to not compare it to last season (where anything would be an improvement), but to the 2011-12 season where promotion wasju stst missed.

What I'll probably do is wait until the season is over and then do a week-by-week graph of the team in the Championship who just missed out on the PO's (7th) and the team who just avoided relegation (21st). Hopefully our results will be somewhere in between the two and will give an indication if the play-offs are a possibility or relegation is a threat, based on this season's Championship performances. Not perfect, but I can't think of anything better.

Apart from packing the idea in.

Sounds good to me you could probably add last seasons teams promoted to the Championship to see how we compare, not sure comparing us to (7th) the Pigs is such a good idea though ;)

Hmm. I'm not sure the membership of S24SU has an abundance of experienced data analysts :) so I think it's best to keep it simple. Apart from that, past performance is no indication etc. Wigan and Burton went up last year and are struggling this year. Is this because the Championship is that much better? Similarly, Barnsley went up via the PO's and are doing pretty well, but the variables are there with the sales of their 2 best players.

Keep it as simple as possible. Otherwise, you end up with something like this :D

Is that the Blades? Just behind the yellow dot, next to the green one?
