I had the pleasure of watching our match with a recently, well due to be announced tomorrow as "mutual agreement", laid off lad tonight in our village pub - who was very pointed, and correct, in our failings on the pitch
Should we?
Anyways, the question remains from the first post
Should we?
No, he may be a great bloke but is just the latest of a long line of lower division successes who are forced into the limelight too soon without learning their trade. We need someone who knows what they're doing, particularly at this level.
Would that include Aidy Boothroyd then?
Did it for Watford and now making waves at Colchester.
Coppell? Thought he might be going to Brighton.
Would certainly play the game as it should be.
Phil Brown? Under pressure to sustain the levels of consistency required but he did a great job getting Hull there in the first place.
Look at the job Mark Robins has done at the Millers and Barnsley.
It's not always a case of someone repeating a previous success. Sometimes it's recognising talent before it reaches those levels. Not an easy job though.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that, he's taken Posh up two divisions in two seasons and although they've not started that well it could well be down to the players he has trying to adapt. By all accounts the football has been fine but they are being punished for mistakes that previously they would have got away with.
To take a similar example, look at us in 90-91. Two promotions on the spin then down to earth with a huge bump until Christmas when we turned it around.
I would have been confident that Posh would have stayed up with Ferguson in charge but now I really hope they go down to show up the plank in charge.
I don't think you have to have prior experience at this level to be a success, look at Robins at Barnsley.
A certain rotund, heart-attack prone, past-manager of lower division sides has done for him at Posh. Bloody directors of football
Well I'd like DF as manager. Some of the football played under him at Posh has been the best some of those ingrates will ever see
Thing is, how do you question the manager from the stands (!!) when you know you'll be seeing him later in the week?!
Stamford, I'm not a million miles away from the town of 'ancient charm' and in fact live in a 'historic market town'. Having met DF several times and on each occasion found him more ignorant than the time before I have to say I wouldn't want DF anywhere near our beloved club.I had the pleasure of watching our match with a recently, well due to be announced tomorrow as "mutual agreement", laid off lad tonight in our village pub - who was very pointed, and correct, in our failings on the pitch

TB.
I was about to ask the same question! You can probably tell where I live by my name (hopefully!)Top Boy. Deeping, Bourne or Spalding?
Did you catch DF whilst he was supping? Always found him quite a knowledgeable chap - and quite a human
Pup. Sorry for the tenuous statements. I actually thought I'd telegraphed it pretty well!! - but hey ho
