In fairness, he's just 33 as well. Last month. If it's for a year, I don't see a down side. Even if we bring in another striker, One can go on loan.Ings has played 15+ games in the Premier league for the past 11 years.
33 isn't old for someone that never relied on pace anyway.
I don't see how this won't be a good addition to the squad. I think ings would see us as a good challenge to come in and get goals once again towards the end of his career - I would image he would be "motivated"
Age isn’t the issue. Sharp was extremely fit and was used to playing every week. Ings played 405mins last season and the last few months was out injured. Redmond a measly 300mins in 2 seasons, we need first team players!Billy Sharp scored 23 goals as a 33 year old when we went up from this level in 2019.
Ings was available most of the time for West ham in his 2 years. 50 plus appearances.Age isn’t the issue. Sharp was extremely fit and was used to playing every week. I agree. We have Davies and the comfy high seat for geriatrics both almost constantly on the treatment table do we really want to risk adding another two injury prone players to the squad.Age isn’t the issue. Fair enough to question the lack of playing time but he wasn't out injured for the last few months of the season at all.Age isn’t the issue. Yeah, it is. Either falls over the ball or his own feet or loses possession. Very rarely takes a man on and gets a cross in.That's just not true is it. ?
That's just not true is it.If you mean dribbling in the sense of running with the ball…I’d suggest that it was good in the way they might do dribbling unopposed around cones in training.
The minute he’s got a player to beat he’s done.
Not my idea of a winger.
Talk about recency biasYeah, it is. Either falls over the ball or his own feet or loses possession. Very rarely takes a man on and gets a cross in.
Passes the ball sideways and backwards if he manages to keep the ball.
Frustrating as fuck to watch.
Fair enough, I took not in the squad as being out injured (my bad).Fair enough to question the lack of playing time but he wasn't out injured for the last few months of the season at all.

I do also agree and have reservations about Redmond due to his severe lack of playing time but this thread is about Ings.
No recency bias at all. That's just not true is it.
Talk about recency bias
Yes the kids been disappointing this season but I've seen the lad go past his man in fact several men on numerous occasions
Can only.assume you have a very short memory
so your saying we should buy him as he plays better on a permanent contract ?Ings has been fit, he's just no good at playing. As a loan striker.
It's not Bias at all, just look closer as to what he brings to the side when he receives the ballThat's just not true is it.

A fit Redmond is but obviously that's the million dollar question.Ings maybe, but Redmond isn't an improvement on Brooks imo
Sorry but that comes from above and should never be from below. Also some experienced heads who might hold Selles to account if he keeps on persisting with something that doesn't work.
This how low we've sunk? if we sign them going to be a long hard season. not for those 2 they'll be picking up a good wage to sit on a comfy treatment table
I meant lone not loan.so your saying we should buy him as he plays better on a permanent contract ?
At the moment, it seems that nobody at the club from top to bottom seems to have a clue what they're doing.Sorry but that comes from above and should never be from below.
Yep, it smacks of 10 to 2, and the beer goggles are persuading you to make a move for the girl with her front teeth missing.Ings and Redmond feel a bit like panic is setting in. Neither will be cheap either
I don't think the manager understands it, to be fair. The problem is. Who ever they sign, the player's have to understand the system and be able to play it.
Frankly at the moment none of the player's understand it and it shows in their body language
Even so, the last thing we want is players undermining the managerAt the moment, it seems that nobody at the club from top to bottom seems to have a clue what they're doing.
Helmy Eltouky and Steve Rosen could be the smartest people in the world but it doesn't mean they know the first thing about football.
