Redmond is only 31
I suppose one upside is that you wonder what Redmond could potentially do for Brooks.

I like Brooks as a RW (you can see he's got the potential to be a good RW) but there are parts of his game that he needs to work on, decision making being the main one.

Having someone like Redmond to help him should be hugely beneficial to him, both short term and long term.

The problem is. Who ever they sign, the player's have to understand the system and be able to play it.
Frankly at the moment none of the player's understand it and it shows in their body language

Ings wages will be similar to Brownhills. So you’ve got 2 signing on fees plus Redmonds wage to throw at him. All trivial anyway as Brownhill probs ends up in the MLS. I just don’t think these 2 are a good use of limited funds.
How do you know what we’ve offered to pay Ings? It’s absolutely irrelevant what he’s earned in the past, we won’t be paying anywhere near that. If he wants to play and he’s ok with the terms offered by us then why not?

Ings has missed one game through injury in the last 4 seasons so not sure how he is being classed as injury prone?!

Literally no harm in having him training with us to see what he can offer. I am 1000% certain he will offer us more than Cannon.

Can’t let this go without comment.

I believe he’s had one good game for United.
Lacks the decision making, Pace, Strength, skill And intelligence to make a name for himself in the game.

If United had bought him from somewhere else he’d be getting pelters every week.

He is at best a bench warmer to come on when games are won and the proper players need a rest.
Him, and to some degree Seriki are part of the problem at the moment, and neither should be starting a game for a team with the alleged ambition we have.

Brooks has good level dribbling but not much else

Perhaps we are looking at Ings because we have missed out on other players due to pissing about having a pillock running the rule over transfers for most the transfer window.

It’s been a problem for a while and remains a problem while ever we persist on using the loan market as the main source of incomings. We need players in who we know will be here for a couple of years at least, and form the backbone of the squad.
Then once you’ve sorted that then look at loans to get a couple or three marquee signings to get fans off their feet.

So far, we’ve brought in nothing much of note…Godfrey perhaps the only one that looks an upgrade on what we have.

If you mean dribbling in the sense of running with the ball…I’d suggest that it was good in the way they might do dribbling unopposed around cones in training.
The minute he’s got a player to beat he’s done.
Not my idea of a winger.

Ings has played 15+ games in the Premier league for the past 11 years.

33 isn't old for someone that never relied on pace anyway.

I don't see how this won't be a good addition to the squad. I think ings would see us as a good challenge to come in and get goals once again towards the end of his career - I would image he would be "motivated"

I don’t, just like no one else knows exactly what Brownhill earns/wants either, but I can say with confidence Ings won’t be cheap…

Billy Sharp scored 23 goals as a 33 year old when we went up from this level in 2019.
