Chris messaged a lot of people for support when he was starting his blog. He was concerned that his dyslexia would put people off so reached out to a lot of people asking for advice. I was one of them and I'm just a copy and paste merchant. I doubt he had pictures of Danny Hall's articles on his bedroom wall. The way that people feel they can talk to complete strangers over a screen is wild! Saying things they would never dream of In Real life and expecting people just to take it.

If I had any sort of profile in the world I’d never be online. It’s part of being a journo now that you have to be online I’d assume, to promote you work, generate traffic. But I feel sorry for a lot of the vitriol they have to put up with.

The old adage of ‘if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all’ has been long forgotten.

If I had any sort of profile in the world I’d never be online. It’s part of being a journo now that you have to be online I’d assume, to promote you work, generate traffic. But I feel sorry for a lot of the vitriol they have to put up with.

I’m not a journalist but I’d imagine access is a large part of getting information. There’s obviously a trade off between on and off record and I’d imagine you’re not going to keep that access if you burn bridges all the time. Equally I’d imagine they would accept being ‘used’ deliver a narrative to players or other teams or owners etc etc.

At the end of the day it’s football transfer rumours. It’s hardly watergate or even remotely serious in the grand scheme of things. players with either sign or they won’t and we’ll either sell players or we won’t. Fuck all to do with when it’s reported - it’s all irrelevant by the 31 of August anyway if we had the patience to wait.

What Danny did was petty and pathetic, he literally leaked a private message because someone was being critical of local journalists. It wasn't some abusive tirade directly aimed at him, it was a very tame general critique of the local press. I do agree that abuse of journalists is wrong for the most part, I am sure many get a stupid amount of needless direct abuse but I do think a line is crossed when you leak private messages just out of pure spite.

Like I said before earlier in this thread there are reasons the Paul Walker's and the Nathan Hemmingham's are doing well in their careers and the Danny Hall's of this world are pay walling clickbait.

Danny knows he made himself look an idiot since he has deleted the post. I will be surprised if he bothered to apologise to Chris for posting it though.
