Bob i agree we could do with another CM but Wilder says we are in for 2 players and I think another striker is more urgent as all we've got is Bamford. At the minute we have 5 serviceable CMs for 2 spots and 1 serviceable CF for 1 or 2 spots

I think the issue is more what we did in the first 6 games of the season. Anything that is not relegation this season is an achievement considering our start.

All I recall for the majority of last season in regards to Dan Neil was Sunderland fans absolutely slating the life out of him.

My only caveat would be, there's a very strong chance that Peck, Tom Davies and Riedewald aren't here next season and
we still don't know if / when Arblaster will get back to his old levels.

We're not going to have much money to throw around and Dan Neil is very capable at this level.

For where I think we'll be and where the club's heading, I think he'd have been a useful medium to long term signing... despite not being as good as any of the aforementioned players.
With six months remaining, I thought there was some value in it.

Very fair comment from a different angle

Aside from the obvious frees/loan market, I've completely no idea what the recruitment model will be next season (if we finish mid-table) given the finances. I originally said I wouldn't begrudge the owners for their new AI model but they've completely, and probably rightly so, abandoned ship on it.
