We will have run out of loan spaces soon!!!!…….same as the ridiculous situation we ended up in last season!

We’ve currently only got 2 loan players on our books, so not exactly filling the squad.

Also, you can’t run out of loan spaces, you can have as many as you like. However, you are limited to how many you have in your match day squad.

Why was last season a ridiculous situation? Should we be keeping loan spaces empty for some reason?

wonder if this means the rothwell deal isnt going to happen ?
Would 100% take Neil over Rothwell. Especially if its a permanent.

-Arblaster and Peck aren't going to be here forever.
-Davies will be let go in the summer.
-Riedewald out of contract in the summer.
-Soumare leaves assuming we don't go up.

This would be good long term planning to bring in a good, experienced Championship midfielder for a low fee (as he's out of contract in the summer).

Got to give it our all this year, but its a low % chance. Starting on building a team for next season (Bamford signed for 18months) is what you want to see from the club.

Why not offer Sunderland something, (which is better than nothing ) and then agree a deal with the player after he us released from his contract

Riedewald was reported as End of the Season plus option to extend.

think your overating neil a bit there rothwell is a well established quality midfielder at championship level i would like to see us sign both davies is finished at the club soumare will go back hamer could be off to holland and peck could still be sold

What sort of CM is he?
From what I can recall and from my unprofessional opinion.

He was normally the anchor in the Sunderland midfield, occasionally going forward while often committing cynical fouls and winning soft fouls (a common trait of Sunderland players the last 3/4 years).

I presume if we lose Peck he would come in, permanent rather than loan would suit us given his age and his deal expiring this season I believe.

I also assume he would command higher wages than Peck, however, if Peck goes for say £10m and he comes in for £2m it makes sense.

Solid, proven option at this level, a Wilder-type signing if ever there was one.

Still young at 24 but played plenty of football. He'd be a yes from me, simply for us to act early and fill the voids that we'll see in the summer.
