Paul Walker says on RS tonight that CW has been talking about Jan window (today I think) and that he wants 3 - 4 players in

Can't find a thread or tweet of his interview. Anyone got a link?

Another positive interview from Chris. Looks like he may be after a few new faces come January, which really shouldn't come as a surprise. Constructive in everything he says, although obviously disappointed after Tuesday it's onto the next game and doing our best to pick up another 3 points. Baldock's being tested today so finger's crossed.

I will get around to listening but does he sound like he will be back in for the missed signings from the summer? Or does it seem that our targets have changed?

Anyone get the impression that when talking about being backed in Jan, it didn't come across quite as positive as I thought it might?

Perhaps I'm reading too much into it?

Fantastic interview, yet again.

Been said for a couple of months now. If we're in for a shout you'd like to think we'd give the TW a bash. The thing is where to strengthen? CM is a top priority for me and then maybe a cover striker and defender. Dunno, a lot can happen between now and January

Excellent interview by Paul Walker - knows when to keep quiet and when to give an encouraging nudge. As a result, probably got Tufty to say more than usual. He actually said that we’re going for promotion.

I guess he thinks George will be back on Saturday from what he said.

He is definitely going shopping in January, and basically said that like all managers he’d like the fattest wallet possible. As a result you’ll never hear a manager say that he’s been promised all that he wants because then he won’t get any more.

Said Adams and DCL were sold because they wanted to go and he doesn’t want people who want to leave.

His only real disappointment from Tuesday was the 3rd goal, failure by JOC to stop the cross and failure at the back post to cover it. That was the pivotal moment.

Without Doubt The Magic is Alive and Kicking

Good to hear him confirm what some of us know about Adams. He wanted to go, we had limited interest in him from other clubs, we couldn't have got a much bigger fee.

Really hoping to hear an "Adams what's the score" chant on Saturday. That would be lovely.

So either

Those who said we should have got more for him are wrong,

OR

Tufty is lying again.

Poll?

Does any manager not want 3-4 players in the January transfer window.

I can't remember any manager saying "nah, I don't want any". Equally I can't remember any saying "9 to 12 player at least"

There’ll be no big money spent, and Wilder knows it. But I believe we’ve moved on from the lad at Fleetwood, for example.

I'm not suggesting that we have some huge war chest, but Wilder is way too savvy to announce it publicly if he had.
True. I do think we are quite good at this. CW confirmed we bid for Coady in the summer, that won't have been a small amount of money. We may have (slightly) more to spend than a few people think.

The best strategy is to make your most expensive purchase last, so no other agents/teams catch on that you have a bit to spend. Of course this then runs the risk of getting too close to the deadline, but perhaps it's a risk worth taking.

I’m goin with the 2 pacey attacking Midfielders he wanted, A striker and someone to carry on where Coutts left off..

Assuming Brentford and Reading are not challenging by January it wouldn't surprise me at all if we made a bid for either Woods or Swift. When CW describes someone as a 'proper player' it means he wants him.

Well we might not be rolling in money but I think we will do some trading come January, it could be a lot worse just ask Carlos he reckons the pigs have run out of money ................. Tee Hee :D:D:D:D

Great interview however I also came away thinking he’d talked to the board about the budget in January and wasn’t satisfied, at best he was giving them a bit of a warning about what he expects. He made the point that we are now contenders and we are battling against teams that are spending millions and we need to give ourselves the best chance to match them.

Was it on Tiswas that Lenny Henry was last funny?

Has Lenny The Henry ever been a cause for mirth nd merriment?
I also believe he's the half-brother of Crossroads stalwart and lovable imbecile, Paul Henry.
His father, Thierry.... don't get me started on that handball ''goal''...........
