Mooro MOTM. Scougs did well. Lavs nearly in. Doney should have had another. Clarkey needs 10 days rest. Laffs off for Scougs.
Think that covers it.

  • Clarke has a niggle with his ankle but is expected to be back for the Scunthorpe game - I am relieved by this. We don't have another option like him and could do without him being injured for a long spell.

saw Clarke leaving the stadium tonight and he has a pot on his left foot think its more than a niggle

Can't wait to see us where he wants us to be.

It's a funny game where arguably the best attacking side we've faced is the one we've finally held a clean sheet. The most exciting league game I remember in a long time. Expecting the Posh fans will feel like they could've grabbed something from the game, but even when they were on top we had signs that we were capable of scoring. We limited them to shots from outside the box and while they had had one terrific chance, and one very good one, mostly it was work well done by our ever improving defence.

To put it one way, today was what I thought Adkins would bring us. The first half of the game we pressed so well that they really couldn't get a grip on the play at all. Done is looking so much better finally playing as a striker again, should have had two if not three, and is so important to us when we want to pressure high up the pitch. Basham, who I said in the week was a weak link, was outstanding. Scougall is another one who I thought would thrive under Adkins, and didn't, but looks like an excellent player we can bring on to harass opposition and increase our potential on the counter. If I could pick out anyone who deserved dropping I'd say he should get a start. Coutts, one of my least favourite players of recent times, started to make a few mistakes later on, but still had a very convincing game by my estimations.

Even though it was a very close affair as it played out, today was the one where I was worried we might come crashing back down to Earth after three wins vs. softer opposition. Instead, particularly the first half hour, was the best I've seen us by far.

Still early days, still expecting more than a few bumps in the road, but in terms of performance, I couldn't be much happier with today.
