Hard to disagree with any of that, especially his comments on Duffy. Whilst Fleck is probably our best footballer, Duffy on his day is the one I enjoy watching the most.

But Coutts is shite according to some I miss Duffy too ,frustrating at times ,reminds me of Stephen Quinn ,but he would get in front of Carruthers and Oshea for me.

The thing about TC was that when he had the ball, your confidence that something good would happen would go sky high.
I never expected him to lose the ball, in fact I'm not even sure he ever did!
That's what CW and this current side has done for me this season.
I have a confident expectation that 'everything will be OK' and that feels great.

The Duffy roll is probably the hardest to play.
99.9% of United fans have wanted this type of football and it is stunning. Not the David Weir tip tap go nowhere end product but passing with a purpose and the off the ball players changing the picture for the one in control.

Agreed. The number options available to the guy is possession is scary and Duffy is always at the heart of this, buzzing around the oppositions 18 yard line, drifting wide then back inside. He must be a nightmare to mark and defend against. He also has supreme close control and an arsenal of very subtle but clever movements that trick opposing players. For a player who isn't blessed with speed he can still skin opponents easily at times which requires superb technique and brains.

Hope he stays with us and kicks on next season.

Duffy left Burton after they went up. Not sure why when he had been so instrumental for them. He also seems to have only had success in this league after getting a chance with Birmingham.

With experience, he may have learned to deal with it and now be ready for the step up, but Wilder will get the best from him for sure.

If we stick with a midfield trio or even quintet then I can see Duffy being effective next season, although he does seem to fade after an hour in most games so would no doubt find himself subbed regularly or on the bench as an impact player. Either way we will need his skill and his nounce at various points of the season so should keep him around. I would be very surprised if he isn't involved.

Duffy is far more talented than Squinny. A class above really. Duffys weakness is probably physical. He's quite slow, easily bustled off the ball, poor defensively and a weak tackler. Squinny was more combative. However it's just proves Duffys fantastic technique when someone slow can dribble pass his man so easily.

Their similarity is that they both used to regularly try difficult passes. Many times it fails and they get stick for giving the ball away but when it comes off then both players used to create goal scoring opportunities.

Duffy is my favourite player, a poor mans Chris Waddle, winger converted into a floating attacking midfielder and we always tend to lose creativity when he subbed off.

The last thing I would change with Utd is the midfield quintet ,a couple of back up players (still like Luke Murphy) yes but I wouldn't replace any at this time they are easily capable of stepping up a division.

As important as I think Fleck & Coutts are to our side, the pivotal player in our central play is Duffy IMO (emphasised in his performance against Bradford). I thought he pretty much single handedly destroyed Bradford the other day. It also helps that he's got quality all around him, but he really has shined all season. Unplayable on his day

It's great to watch good football being played, but great football can only be played when the hard work is present as well.

When we haven't got the ball we swarm around the opponent who is in possession
When we have the ball there is movement from team mates wanting to receive it

Even the best teams in the World have the hard working trait running through the team. You never see Barcelona players standing about watching teams play pretty football in front of them, they squeeze up, deny space, force errors and get the ball back

Their work when in possession is just as impressive, running off defenders, moving into space and making themselves available for a pass

Our previous managers used a slow, methodical, boring passing from side to side and then going backwards which ultimately led to a long aimless ball up field came about as a result of lack of movement and fitness, it's good to see this is changing.

TC was Fleck, Coutts and Duffy rolled into one.

As hard on the ball as Fleck, passed the ball 50 yards as well as Coutts and had an eye for that killer pass like Duffy.

Plus of course he could shoot as well as ... well better than anybody we have.
