Crowds allowed into grounds in October..

I want to know why theatres can get crowds in London...indoors
Yet football grounds .outside regarded as .much safer we are not even allowing socially spaced crowds

Because they aren't big nasty men who will spit in disabled children's mouths whilst giving them a good sly dig in the kidneys.

One minister on the news said he went to a theatre on thursday and the opera on friday..
Are toffs immune then
The Carrier Bag Firm love going to the theatre, think of it as the Tele or the cinema with real people instead of pictures of them. I've given the Opera a go, the one I saw had a live donkey in it which went entirely as you'd expect. Toffs, Scoffs. The fucking football club is owned by a Prince.....

The London FA have switched back to the smaller, just 15% of Grade Capacity, attendance limit for Grassroots Steps 3-6 (for eg that'd be 150 at Hallam), in order to make social distancing easier. And all fans required to wear masks "all the time" - (which I'm in favour of btw).

Norwich allowing supporters to Carrow road today to watch game from the hospitality suite. Me no understand. So indoors is fine but outside in the ground is not allowed? Beats me.

Taken from a Twitter report below.......

"Several clubs are allowing a limited number of supporters to watch matches on TV screens in the hospitality areas of their grounds - as long as they don't have a direct view of the pitch." Only in the UK.

They meant fans back in October 2021, maybe

Thing is you are not going to be far off!

I got criticised by many on these forums for saying we would not be going back till 2021-22 season and season ticket sales would be a waste of time...people were saying I was being preposterous negative and overreacting and we would be back in grounds by August this year. I take no glee at all that it looks a strong chance that might be right in terms of all this season almost certainly being behind closed doors.

Maybe even next August it probably will be reduced. Maybe if things get better then they may do a small number from March for the last 4 or 5 home games but even that will be a push - whether people agree or disagree if many areas are tier 3 going into the New Year then football crowds of any sort being allowed are a long way off.

Really sad to think it could be years before the Lane is full if it ever is and that we wont be going away for a long time either. I can sadly see next season not allowing away fans either or if they do allow % of home fans to come back.

I'm yearning for an away day on the booze etc in London or Manchester etc but again it could be a long time before we get to experience that. I wonder even if/when they allow visiting fans whether away fans might be like Italy and Spain where home teams allow a tiny % for away fans and there might be a couple of hundred at most.

Depressing.

The issue is, we aren't at least back in a lower percentage because of the incompetence of the government. Lots of similar countries to us have fans back.

When they need a polling boost, fans will go back

I agree...think we should be back

My thoughts and reasoning was never based on what I believe should personally happen but on how this present govt has handled things.

Football, sport and arts have a long wait behind pubs and many other trades to get back to normal based on how they have operated so far in terms of opening things.

All that dickhead Johnson had to do was pick up the phone and ask the New Zealand prime minister which trace and track they used, but no, he thought it better to divvy out backhandears of £12bn to his cronies. At this rate we’ll never get in the Lane again!

I sort of feel alright about the situation. Because I can't impact it. And I can't bring myself to froth about it. My own personal opinion is that it is not right to think about bringing crowds back any time soon. Elite level football has shown there is no financial need to bring crowds in. The new Made For TV approach generates enough revenue for PL clubs. So, the Govt have a ready made excuse for not risking it. The PL did that by rushing back without fans. Lots of people talk about mental health & how "not being able to do stuff' affects them mentally. I fully understand that. But, my mental health suffers if I'm constantly wishing for something I can't have. So, I prefer to just let it all develop. And see where we get to. Like Deadbat I can't see a crowd at the Lane this season. If it becomes home fans only, I'll call in a few favours & blags & watch a few games on home ends. Which I quite enjoy anyway. I just feel I'll adapt, because that's how it rolls.

Yes only allowing home fans will lead to a nationwide criminal network of football ticket covid gangmasters as it will be more lucrative than running drugs county lines. Keep well clear Phil it can only end in a bad way;)

(Hope you're good mate)
The Ticket Gangmasters offered our (sorry, sorry, their) services to the government for track n trace. The extensive network of contacts would have been invaluable in quick & effective action. Unfortunately, a government audit of the Gangmasters Loyalty Numbers database identified that a significant number of contacts were in fact ALREADY DEAD. Their Season Tickets & Memberships being maintained in perpetuity by the Gangmasters solely for ticket blagging. That khyboshed the deal if I'm honest.

Just to say,
Where I live... to go to any event you have to first provide an ID, so, passport number, Driving Licence, etc... in advance, and all on a mobile app.
To then enter the event, you have to verify yourself to the organisation when you arrive at the door/stadium. You are then obliged to sit in the seat assigned to you (on pain of the Spanish Inquisition).
It's all very Orwellian and The Society of Control, but at least you get to go. I'm not quite sure why these same "track and trace" protocols can't be applied to 'el footie'...
UTB!
