It was that shit we had more shots than boro, more shots on target than boro, more clear cut chances than boro and more corners than boro. Don't get me wrong boro's midfielders were more comfortable on the ball than ours, movement and pace but this was far from a shit show. Don't forget we were playing the most inform team in the league. If you think this was shit maybe you should have watched us before Wilder.
I did watch us before Wilder.

I watched us before Porterfield too, so I know what shit is.

Shit might have been a tad harsh, but I knew exactly what was going to happen in that game, I said it in the weeks before that teams with some confidence and the quality to go with it will destroy us.

Our slow, methodical, boring play is winning games against lower ranked teams because they think we are better than we are, they have a defeatist attitude before they even kick off because of our League position.

Any team with a bit more about them that thinks "We'll show em", will.

Oh I’m sorry, should I have stayed to watch us run into more blind alleys and mis hit simple passes? Or am I allowed to go home to bed since I’m working at 5.30 in the morning? Is that allowed sir?
You go to bed before you go to work ? Luxury !!

Teams we are playing have a defeatist attitude when playing us?

Hmm. I rather think you might be tweaking a narrative to suit your opinion.

You are more or less saying any team willing to get at us will win....

Boro were good against us, make no bones about it. I do think this "destroyed us" comments are wide of the mark.
They broke very well against us for sure. They could have scored a goal or two more, but equally we could and should have as well.
1st half there wasn't much to separate us really was only the 2nd and also in the 1st half we had 3 good chances vs their 1 or 2.

The players deserved fuck all after that. If I'm shit at my job at McDonald's the customer would rightly tell me so. This is no different
Thing is though this is where this analogy for me never works.
Do you go to McDonalds and cheer the staff whilst watching them prep your burger?

Yeah of course you tell them you aren't happy if something is wrong but this is a transaction of a product.
And the thing is you expect the same level of service every time because the variables are quality and competence. But the burger isn't trying to fight back and change the outcome. It can be made consistent.

There are variables in sport, given it's a SPORT! You cannot guarantee anything, so really for me at the end of a game it comes down to effort.
If they have put the effort in we should not be booing or anything. Sometimes you can try your best and it doesn't work, other times you don't and it does.
So whilst I didn't particularly cheer i wouldn't have dreamt of booing.

Football has the crowd and the fanbases are there to watch cheer and share the emotions of a game. Its a big part of the game.
So of course on Wednesday night we lost and there wasn't a great deal to cheer about, but we are still currently in a good position down to those very players.

Having said all this, am I the only one that didn't really hear any boos after the match? They weren't loud at all if there was any.

If at McDonald's you were competing to serve customers better than other servers, and you were generally very good at your job (second in the McDonald's serving league, beating most people every week) but happened to lose to another server on one occasion, then perhaps the analogy would work.

I don't think that's how working at McDonald's actually works though, so I don't think it's comparable.

We sit just behind our dugout and stayed until last player mcatee left the pitch, no booing at player's but definitely at ref

I actually though the atmosphere was decent on Wednesday night, up until the 3rd goal. The fans particularly chanted when we conceded the first two goals. I think overall the fans were decent. Fans leaving early was disappointing but in many ways I wanted to go as I think we all knew after the 3rd went in that was almost certainly game over as we just didn't have it in us to respond, not surprisingly.

I wonder how many who are moaning about the atmosphere and leaving early are going to be arsed about going to cheer the boys on against Spurs. Just looked to see how the tickets are going and to be honest it's pretty disgusting. Get yourselves there, we will beat Spurs. We can then start moaning about , I can't get an away ticket if we get a big draw.
They’re only on sale to season ticket holders aren’t they?
Unless you'd like to see Sheffield United win the FA cup.

Doing well in the cup and the league are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
They’re not necessarily mutually exclusive, but the last 3 times we’ve been promoted we went out of the cup in the first game we played. And it obviously follows that every time we’ve got past the 3rd round in the last 20 years, we haven’t been promoted.

Yes, Season tickets only, sorry, just saw Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, didn’t notice the dates. Probably why it looks sparse. Cheers.

I think people are entitled to leave whenever they wish. That is their choice and their right.
Personally, I have never ever left a match before the final whistle. So many goals and dramatic moments occur late in matches.
And I have also had to get up very early in the morning and had a 150 mile drive home or (some years ago admittedly) a ride back on the late night mail train. But that is my choice and does not make me right or those who choose to leave early wrong.
I hear what you’re saying and of course it is every person’s right to leave whenever they want. I doubt whether the same people would have left if we’d been winning 3-1 though, long journey home or not. 1-3 down in a really important game against our nearest challenger, their support was needed more than ever, but each to their own. UTB

this again. i guess the reason is for this that of course alot of people only watch united. so think everything is amazing at the rest of championship & like argentina or Morocco at the world cup

but as ive said before this very harsh to call this a purely us problem, its a football problem. i would like to be better, id say its 90% of football matches in the football league are exactly like this. i said this around the 4th round of FA Cup, of the live games before us, only Cardiff/Leeds was interesting in atmosphere.

Think a lot boils down to the fact we have about 3 songs which are shite let’s be fair, United - repeat, Sheffield United, Sheffield United - repeat, s h e f f I e l d u n I t e d - repeat. To be fair to the wilder years we had so many to choose from which were actually good, I get that a lot of the songs are created on away days but once the kop hopefully gets sorted out we could actually do with one specific singing area like Palace, back in the day the whole kop was basically a singing section but even being middle of the stand it’s hard to get it going
This is the correct answer... for me at least.

It's especially annoying as we have so many good songs that very rarely get sung anymore.

Barrel of money
Wings of a sparrow
No pig fans in town
Boxing day
Swinging a pig

I know there will be plenty more, but that's all I can think of straight off the bat.

Reactions: RWE
Like every other club
But where other clubs also have 'clappers' etc or sections determined to bring something positive or encouraging (however orchestrated), we have a higher proportion of towel throwers. Take a peak in shoutbox, it's the fans that bottle crunch scenarios long before the team does.

Anywho, im whinging about the whingers.

EFL highlights tonight... Pundit's first reason for Millwall being so good at home: "Vociferous crowd".

what has happened to our kop totally non existent vocal wise today we were in john st more noise coming from there but g and h in tc stand were fantastic today well done all that were in there

got to be honest I thought the Kop was excellent today but I never heard a sound from G&H in the South Stand ( and certainly not a peep out of John Street). Proves it depends where you sit as to what you hear. UTB

g and h were the only ones singing today heard kop about 3 times in 2nd half from john st not a peep in first half

I sit in the middle of the Kop and we can definitely do better. (I did try).

South Stand , great effort.

I honestly have never heard John Street Stand since it was re-built.
Young children aren't going to burst into song, & neither are the parents/grand parents who are looking after them! Be realistic ffs, itscalled the family stand for a reason
