How many people in Sheffield on 29k a year do you think are doing that and do you think that £45 for a game of 1st division football is reasonable?

Are you aware of the current economic reality that a great many people in this city and country are facing? Folk are struggling to pay their heating and electricity bills, on top of a mortgage, let alone fork out 40 plus quid for a game of football.
Paying £120 a month to Sky instead.

were charging premier league prices for championship football i mean £46 for the silly streetwise corner the club are taking the piss and how is charging £18 for kids under 14 fair weve priced loads of families out of going to the lane and i welcome this latest move by a fan group to have talks with the clubs hierarchy we were taking the piss out of wednesday fans a few years ago about chansiris outrageous pricing at the sty but weve taken exactly the same route and its simply not fair

Agree…..I’m surprised that our high pricing hasn’t received more publicity…we’re one of the highest in the EFL
It’s not been highlighted by a single Blade calling any of the Football Heaven shows I’ve heard on Radio Sheffield.

Most people buy their tickets over the net
so for the Leeds match it’s £42 on then Kop, £44 in the BLUT and £47 in the South stand, John street stand or Kop corner.

Another point that doesn’t receive enough mention is our category system.
This year at least half the home games have been made category A…..so that’s £37 on the Kop and £42 in most other places.
We made the Stoke game cat A and next month the Preston match is also cat A.
Surely these 2 games should be cat B? Which is still quite expensive at £31 on the Kop and £37 in most other stands.

My view is that United have copied Chansiri at Sheff Wed.
Wednesday fans complain about their prices but they are seeing their highest average attendances in years….same with us.
Both Sheffield clubs enjoy high season ticket sales every year.

Match day tickets are so high that anyone who intends to attend 50% of the matches may as well buy a season ticket.
If you attend all the home match’s then the savings are massive and buying a season ticket is fantastic value.

spot on sheffsteel i think the club are trying to railroad fans in to buying a season ticket by charging top end prices for potd fans season tickets and potd prices at the lane are so wide apart it can only be for this reason just dont think their considering fans that cant afford a season ticket or cant go to every game through either family or work reasons i welcome this fans group innitiative in meeting with club officials

Adult tickets all £41 to £46, not surprising plenty left unsold.

Agree, ticket pricing could cost us the game and ultimately promotion, a full BL with lots of noise is an intimidating place to play and can influence the referee, not so intimidating if there are a lot of empty seats

That said if the game was 3pm on a Saturday I think it would have sold out already

Can't commit to a season ticket currently, and because individual tickets are so oppressively expensive, I've effectively had to accept becoming an armchair fan now. Which thoroughly saddens me, as I love going to games.

A single ticket being over 40 quid, means that depending on a few things (if someone goes with me, costs of food/drinks etc. that I might want to get), I could easily push 100 quid on a single game. That's absolute madness.

Football in general has become such a monetary arms race, that fans are the ones being sacrificed in the pursuit. Pretty much every match we play that isn't a Sat 3PM kick off is on Sky, which undoubtedly has financial benefits for the club. But then you end up with fewer bums on seats, and "Football in a library", as is so frequently sung these days.

Wasn't possible for me to get a ST (or at least didn't make any sense to get one). I do go when I can and would have gone Monday. But not at £45. Value is subjective though and do hope I regret my stance come late Monday night!
If I didn’t have a season ticket I wouldn’t be going Monday night. I would be priced out.
Can someone do a poll as to how many season ticket holders would go if having to pay £42-£47 on a Monday night televised match.

An atmosphere similar to this one vs Leeds would be welcomed. Remember cutting my shin open jumping up and down on the south after Jags screamer flew in! Fantastic night!

My favourite game ever. I didn't think, for a few brief minutes, that I'd ever experience anything like what happened when Jags scored again. Then nuddy scrambled in and the absolute lot went up. I still like watching those highlights again as I can clearly see myself (I'm the only twat wearing a shirt in the shot down from the back of the kop after Nuddy's goal).

Edit: 2:36 in the video...for some reason I can't remember I'm also wearing a fucking baseball cap. 16 year old me made some questionable matchday fashion choices 😂

I'm season ticket holder too, but probably miss 5 or 6 home games a season when on my jollies, so that averages out at a fair wedge per game attended - but I do get what you are on about. The fact that a season ticket guarantees your seat, I think, is a massive pull for people getting season tickets. If I couldn't sit with my mates, I doubt if I'd attend every single match.

On potd pricing, yep, crazy. Surely £30 absolute tops is enough. However, this will be the first home game in almost 2 weeks (and the next is almost 2 weeks after) so as it's a massive game I'd more than likely pay the price. It's when there are 2 home games in like 3 or 4 days that get me. How the fuck can the average fan afford to go Sat and Tues/Wed in a family of 2,3 or 4. I think we should definitely do deals on 2 match in x days situations. For example Pompey and Boro £40 or £50 adult on kop or BL Stand would have made financial (not to mention PR) sense I reckon.

One of my first games as a kid. From playing FIFA 2000 I thought a draw meant "golden goal" but obviously that had been scrapped by then for ET and penalties. After the jags goal had gone in and I'd calmed down I remember turning to my old man and saying "will it be golden goal now Dad?" And next thing I know the ball has sat up perfectly off the chiefs arse for nuddy to slot home. Cue absolute scenes! Back when we used to play the professionals theme tune after a goal 😆

Great memories.

Has anyone seen that about Leeds season tickets. If you have less than 80% attendance they are not being allowed to renew next year. They are pushing for full ground until end of season to push them on. You would think united might have some offers to encourage attendance

Nobody would be allowed to renew in that case.
The prices are ridiculous, but that's only half the story, they are no more expensive than other high end Championship clubs,
We all know the reason for not selling out is a combination of pricing, the ticket sales process of one per person, and having fans that are a bit simple and can't use the internet yet

Totally agree and this is further compounded if you have to pay for tickets for family.

I have 2 adult sons I regularly go with, but neither earn enough to afford the tickets, which are full price for them. I usually find a way to pay for them too (i know, I'm a soft touch), but this game would cost me around £140, before any food, drink, parking or petrol. It's a non starter.

Part of your attendance includes forwarding it on to a friend or putting it up for resale, so technically you don't have to attend a single game as long as you do one of the other 2 options every game. I mean when you support a club where you know you can re sell your ticket guaranteed, why would you not do it. Perfectly fair from Leeds tbh to make sure every seat is full. 80% is also fair as there will be odd occasions you might forget to re sell it, might be going and have travel issues, along with many other reasons.

even with our outrageous pricing do think it may have sold out if it had been a saturday 3pm kick and this is where the club are so naive with pricing loads on here saying they cant afford season tickets and potd prices are stopping them attending know it will upset loads but think our fantastically low season ticket prices are driving matchday prices up has to be some middle sensible ground somewhere

All clubs with a half decent fan base effectively give zero consideration to potd-ers. Less than that, they discourage it. But gates and revenues are as high as ever so fair fcks to em. It's a weird old business.

To be honest I don’t really take much notice of match day prices because of my season ticket…But I must say I’m quite shocked.

How many of our seats, or what percentage do we have to keep back for pay on the dayers?
The club should take their average season ticket sales and set the stadium up

For example, all of South Stand and the corner, all of John Street
All areas of the kop except for KM1 and KB1
And all areas of Bramall Lane Upper except BU1

That would make it easier for day trippers to buy tickets and be relatively close to their friends and family

The week before payday doesn't help matters.

Other fans watching on Sky won't be aware of the fact that the price of a ticket is almost 50 quid or the difficulties of actually buying a ticket and sitting with your friends. All they will see is the empty seats on the BL Upper.

Such a shame as for every empty seat there will be ten people who'd love to occupy it if they could.

The issue of a loyalty points requirement, and one-ticket per customer is the club’s answer to the need to ensure no away fan can easily get tickets in the home ends.
How do you make it really easy for part-time blades fans, neutrals (who could be future fans), mates and family of fans etc. … to get tickets in the home end, while at the same time making it really difficult for away fans to get the same tickets?
I think allowing purchase of a second ticket per season ticket holder may be an alternative, but could the club trust season ticket holders not to sell the ticket online at a higher price - making it easy for away fans to get hold of them?
Are there other solutions?

Maybe season ticket holders buying them and forwarding them on Wallet, like you can if you aren't going and passing to a friend? Then the recipient has to be in the system?

But, the reply from the club above is saying if you been to 3-4 games in the last 5 years, you'd qualify. So not sure the points thing is the issue.
Is it mid week, TV and price???

Midweek games can be a ballache. I don’t get home until gone 11pm then I’m back up for work at 6am. I guess others are in a similar (if not worse) predicament which puts them off. I went against Boro, but didn’t bother against Oxford a few months back because of this.

It just shows what the people who deal with selling the tickets think about the fans, they expect you to pay full-price restricted view tickets. that is definitely out of order they should knock a tender off the price at least. you can't blame people for that when they can watch on sky in the comfort of their home. The ticketing system should be changed now that we have a new Owners/board running the club. If people want to buy season tickets with family/friends they should have a system where they can do that. the rule should be season ticket holders get priority for tickets for away games/cup games. the point of one ticket per customer as it is now quite frankly is very unfair.I am a season ticket holder and can never get a ticket for away games I have travelled all over the country supporting The Blades. Tomorrow's game against Leeds should be a complete sell-out by now, but with the club ticket policy, nearly a thousand tickets are not sold. That is a showing-up a complete shame.
