I think Wilson's done a cracking job so far, and am extremely chuffed with all the things he is done. My one gripe, is that he really needs to know how and when to use Cresswell. I don't think he touched the ball in the last half an hour, and it is so obvious when he becomes tired, but Wilson seems to want to play him for 90 minutes. Hopefully we can get another striker in, because in the 2nd half Cresswell seems to become lethargic and just start fouling, so Ched is our only outlet.

Anyways, great day, good performance and nice to be 2nd!

Bring on the next game

Where he was involved though, I thought he was very good. He was clearly tiring 2nd half, but made a few useful interventions defensively from set-pieces. DW probably felt Beattie isn't up to playing 30 mins left. A tired Cresswell is probably better than a fresh Chris Porter.

On a completely separate note, Ben Burgess has the appearance of a younger & fat Chris Morgan.

Cresswell set up one and pressured the opposition into a second today. While he may have tired, he ran his knackers off and deserves plenty of praise today.

Agree with LB. It seems clear that BT isn't up to 30 minutes yet, and Porter is dog muck, so Cress was certainly our better choice to stay on.

Cant knock Cresswell today , ran his arse off and created plenty , him tiring was inevitable allowing Beattie on for a run , didnt he look thin

Anyone notice a MASSIVE change in 2nd spot
must ring radio sheffied tomorrow and make them aware of the MASSIVE change

Thought Cresswell had a good game today. You wouldn't see Porter running back and pressuring the winger into a mistake.

A performance full of commitment and no little courage. He never went missing today. Well done Cressy. Just pipped by the collossus that was Collins for MoM.

We played some really good stuff today, orchestrated by K-Mac but with able assistance from Doyle and the wide players.

Well done Danny and the whole team. Get it right in January and it could be a Happy New Year way beyond our expectations

Agreed. The midfield looked really well balanced with the pair having really good games. Collins was the MOM, as you suggest.

Best of all, I thought that the football was really entertaining and though we've tried all season to perform, I've rarely been impressed up to now.

Credit to Danny Wilson for that.

I have to give praise to Wilson for the opposite of what you say blader!

Too many managers (particularly those before Wilson at the Lane) have been too quick to sub strikers and I believe that it knocks their confidence and doesn't help their stamina. Strikers are generally seen to have done their job when the team gets in front, which is bollocks as you start the game with your best team and bring on subs if they don't perform.

Both Ched and Cressy led the line brilliantly today, linked up well and it was good to see them both given almost a full game, just like the defensive pairing.

You're right that Ched tired at the end, but the timing of the substitution was right IMO

I've been critical of Cresswell's contribution since September, but he deserves credit for his performance today.

Thought once we got going today, our aggression and work rate was excellent. We regained possession in their half several times and this helped us create chances. Our tempo and urgency was also a lot better than it has been at times this season. I also liked that we kept going and tried to attack for the entire match, rather than trying to keep it in the corner and waste time. We're good enough and should have the confidence to do that.
