Gone back to York, the club has just confirmed it, was a good servant for the club and hopefully it leaves some room for Taylor to come in

Wish him all the best. Got the fans on side after some moronic boos due to past allegiances and always gave his all.
Good luck Cressy! Always gave it everything even when he was clearly not fit. Great example to some of our more precious players and always up for the battle.
I think Deadbat forgets that two years ago he Cresswell was performing brilliantly alongside Ched in an excellent strike partnership.
Hope he does well for York. Cheers Cressy!
I think I am right in saying that makes Doyle now our longest serving first team player, having been at the club for all of two and a half years
Did he join before Collins? And did Maguire not make a first team appearance before Doyle had joined?
So that must mean there are now no connections with the Blackwell era.
I'm pretty sure they joined on the same day if memory serves me well. Maguire came in towards the end of that season, think he only played 6/7 times.
I think Doyle came first - he made his debut on 1/2/11 v Leicester and Collins on 5/2/11 v Ipswich (though Collins had had a previous loan spell with us playing 2 games in 2006). Maguire debuted on 12/4/11 v Cardiff.
When we signed Cresswell I thought it was nuts as his recent scoring record was poor and I thought his legs were gone. I was wrong - for 12 months. He was very good in his first season, but fell off a cliff in the relegation year. He had a bit of a bounceback as Evans' foil the year after in an easier league, but last season made it clear his time had gone.
His contract was in the Monty class - too much money for far too long.
Fair play to him for re-negotiating his deal to help with the FFP stuff last year and for being willing to go out on loan.
My favourite goal of his? The one he got against Bournemouth when he swept the ball in whilst sitting on his arse....
Happy trails to him.
You're right, Doyle was the 26th January and Collins was the 31st. It just shows the sheer volume of players that have come and gone over the last few years!
George Long appeared on the bench a few times before Doyle arrived. Does that count?
Here's the squad for the Norwich match before Captain Fantastic's arrival
Where are they now.....
S Simonsen, J Mattock, S Lowry
, K Bartley, E Parrino, S Quinn
(R Kozluk, 83), N Montgomery, M Bent (M Yeates, 64), R Cresswell (D Bogdanovic, 89), J Ward, C Evans![]()
Subs not used: L Williamson, J Ertl, G Long, M Lowton

Darren calls it - 5 loanees is far too many but having the entire defence on loan was ridiculous. In addition, over half the team is now playing at a higher level than United, which adds weight to the argument that it was shocking management more than poor players which caused our relegation.
Can't diagree with any of that, except I would say the Scottish First Division is definitely a lower standard given that Murphy, who was apparently a stand out player in the Scottish first tier, looked an average English third tier player. I would put the Scottish second tier as equivalent to the lower 4th tier/higher conference in England.
Mattock*: Sheffield Wednesday (LOWER regardless of league position)
