Don't be upset when people poke fun at the fact you are wrong for each individual result.
From where did you work out I was upset?
The model is a statistical analysis. Individual results are insignificant.

Welcome to the 5th annual Creepometer. Other omoters come and go but the Creepometer remains, the single most authoritative, accurate, ground-breaking, scientifically based, Sheffield Utd predictor on the market. And, as fellow Blades you get it for free! Over the last 4 years, the Creepometer has proven remarkably accurate –

Not on here it hasn't, considering you've only been a member of this site since April 2010. Not one full season yet. Still, it's another stat wrong. You're consistent, if nothing else.:D

A good month sees a blip in the Creepometer predictions. December looks tough to achieve though given our somewhat patchy home form

And I'll bite again. You got two out of four right and in neither case was the scoreline even close. Does the Creepometer allow for mid-season adjustments?!

Reliable?

You got 2 results right and 2 wrong, no indivdiual scores right and were 10 points behind at the start of the month and 12 points now.

Oh dear...

Oh dear...

It is reliable...

...you can rely on it being totally wrong.

Boethius: It's my belief that history is a wheel. "Inconstancy is my very essence" -says the wheel- "Rise up on my spokes if you like, but don't complain when you are cast back down into the depths. Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it is also our hope. The worst of times, like the best, are always passing away".

Boethius sums up the Creep-o-meter

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "reliable". I guess the point of this exercise is actually to predict the final points tally, but at the start of the season? If so, he probably feels that after a better than predicted start, our actual poitns tally is starting to get closer to the predictions. If the two end up the same, then it could be argued that it's a reliable tool.

However, I never quite understood this "creep-o-meter" business. How exactly does it predict the points tally? Is it just you typing your guesses into the BBC predictor thing?

Well Creepy,

Do you think that the Blades will only achieve another 9 points out of the last 16 games to hit your prediction?

Hey, don't knock him I love this thread.

I predict Creepy going for a load of wins until the end of the season, in a vain attempt to catch up.
He's only 21 points down currently but there's a long way to go yet.

When do Creepys March predictions get posted?

I actually had a look at our remaining fixtures before saturday and think we could get 39 points from them. Only 36 more to go

And, as fellow Blades you get it for free! Over the last 4 years, the Creepometer has proven remarkably accurate – within 1.0217% (after taken into account an adjustment to cater for the unpredictable scenario of 4 managers in a season last year)

With teams I’ve never heard of before, this season’s predictions are very challenging but I’m confident that feeding my wealth of football related knowledge and extensive research into a proven mathematical model will result in yet another reliable set of results. Get down the bookies now!

This year we will get 71 points which may be enough to see us flirt with the play-offs. Assuming, of course we don’t get Sealo back half way through the season.

Oh dear.

What a pity.

Never mind :)

To be fair it's nearer than it's been for about 4 years.

It is only because thge league table lied. Otherwise the creepometer would have been spot on!!!!???

For the multitudes of you that have been clammering for the return of the Creepometer I'm afraid to say that after extensive work I have been unable to revise the Creepometer model in line with the demands of the current game. I cannot, in all honesty put out something that does not meet my professional standards and that I know cannot maintain the high level of accuracy set in previous years and it is with a heavy heart that I must formally declare the Creepometer dead and I will not be relauncing it in 2021/22 as many of you were requesting. I would like to go on record and thank everyone for their support over the years. UTB

I'm shocked, given the availability of Big Data and improved computer processing power. I would have thought that 2021's technology would be the ideal platform for such a sophisticated algorithm.

I don't think the issue is with the lack of data hooks and feeds, more in the number of naturally occurring Creepyfucks, which appear to be a particularly scarce resource these days.
