This is all very contradictary. A lot of reputations on the line with this one.
Nixon didn't have to mention if he thought it was dead in the water surely.

I'll take his word over Giddings'. Giddings probably won't even know it's dependent on them getting Burke. He certainly won't know as well as Nixon what's going on with Burke.

Just have to hope for the best I suppose. Not a situation we should've been in now but it shouldn't surprise anyone that we are.

what you're not taking into account is that Barnsley have money burning a hole and a CB that needs replacing. I think Burke is going there.

Good point, but Dingles are set to sign a defender from QPR in Cole Kpekawa who can play cb. Fee agreed and expected to travel to Barnsley for talks

May not be the answer for them tho as he's only 20, so we'll have to wait and see
 
Just to return the forum, however briefly, to sanity.

Only a very few people know up to the minute what is going on in relation to transfers. They work in management and executive offices at football clubs. That does not include agents, local hack Giddings or Magic Mike's guru Nixon. Anything they say is out of date by the time they write it. They won't like that because their self-esteem rests entirely on being ITK, but it's true.
 
Be surprised if Giddings is wrong on this, more ITK than Alan Nixon when it comes to the Blades.

He's a local hack, mate. A complete nonentity like all the rest. He gets information if and when the club want him to have it.

The Star once published a headline "Blades give Warnock OK for Pompey talks". He'd been there, had the talks and returned 48 hours earlier...

A radical idea, I know, but people might consider a bit of respite from the doom, gloom and tantrums until, say, just to pick a time at random, tomorrow night?....
 

That leaves Wigan with 5 centre halves
Jake Buxton, Dan Burn, Reece Burke, Donervon Daniels and of course Morgan.

Something's got to give for a side who are looking to live within their means.

What really pisses me off about all this, is we are waiting while our targets are replaced by their host club....and then it's the cheek to have them announced, photographed and details released while we are still stuck with our thumbs up our arses! Just line up the targets, and do to others what always seems to happen to us.
We are supposedly picking up the best players from around us and the leagues below, surely we can just get on with it FFS.

Come in from work, hoping to see some new players signed....maybe different names to those that have been dragging about for the last 2 weeks.
What do I find....we are still trying to sort a deal for a player who was singled out weeks ago, still pissing about for Morgan...signing on...off...on...off!! No sign of a midfielder or the other 2 players we need to have a full squad.

This club really is an abomination. Can't believe we have got to this stage yet again, where we can all see that despite huge efforts we are going to be found wanting and left behind.

Yeah I've just seen that, Biggs has quoted Wilder who has said he is expecting us to complete deals for a wide midfielder & a centre back
