Feel a bit sorry for Alcock if he's going to be the first choice right back.

Good a player as Brayford is, he also got the extra points for "he's not Tony McMahon". Would have been a lot easier gig following TM rather than the Beard.

Christ! Can't wait for the season to start if this is the level of debate we're having. The last time I looked, Harry was still a Blades player. No, we haven't signed the 'big 'un' to set the pulses racing but I bet most people at this stage last year were more optimistic than they are now. And look what happened.

Clough WILL be a fantastic asset to United. Just look at the state we were in when he took over. We are a club on the move. Some Hull fans I spoke to after the Semi told me they could see this.

Next season is 46 games and I firmly believe we'll get promotion. Obviously, there'll be the odd set back. But will we have 'the bog roll Prince' quoted every time we do?

I know! Let's get a plastic billionaire in, put 'Land of Shite' on the shirts and everything will be OK. I know where I'd rather be.

Didn't know much about the lad so had a look on Peterborough forums to see what the general opinion is. They seem sad to have lost him, most rated him and wanted him to re-sign.

Good for us then :)

Why do most people seem to forget that football is not just about individual players, it's a team game and I think NC will build us a good one ..

That's comparing apples and oranges. The average height of a player was much lower in Shaw's day.

And Alcock is hardly Franco Baresi.

You may be correct about the average height of players. However, if memory serves, there were some big buggers in the number 9 shirts. They were all the same to Joe. Few could read a game better than he could. Rest assured, he wasn't up against dwarves every week and non played like choir boys.

View from I pal who supports Peterborough.

OK, positive side, he always gives 100%, tackles hard, can play at right back, left back (which he played most for us) and Centre Half and he can jump very high , however down side is sadly he rarely scores a goal and the one thing that did annoy me was he tends to always pass sideways and never takes anyone on. I will be very interested in his progress.

We shall see shortly.

I know what your saying and i still want a big striker in myself but you don't HAVE to spend big to get out of this league.

I'm liking the transfers the more i look at them,Mcnulty best player at livingston,Campbell Ryce best player at notts county always tore us apart,Basham championship player,Butler best defender at wallsall,Wallace best player at tranmere, and Alcock a very steady, nothing dramatic, versatile defender who can also cover for chopper aswell, thats that problem solved.

At this moment in time we are allready going to have alot of options in perssonel and different formations to do alot of damage in this league next year, now we just want that one more striker,be patient, although i'm finding it hard myself because we all want it done yesterday, but if it was we would get the wrong one at the wrong price. So be patient and there is no need to worry YET.

This was two years ago - my patience is running out.

Even for a happy person like me who isn't prone to tantrums, this one is indeed a scary post as it indeed sounds very much like an assessment of Wilder's transfer activity so far.... :(:tumbleweed:

I think you mean the club's transfer activity since Wilder has been appointed. If you understand the difference between the two phrases you understand the problem.

A good solid signing, I've heard great things about him. Oh sorry, this is from two years ago.
