In the case of Newcastle vs Sale they gave Newcastle the equivalent of a win and Sale a draw with 0-0 on the goal/points difference. So we would get 3 points and each team 1 that were at fault.

You could follow the decision in Rugby League and award any COVID postponed match to the team who could have played, with the score equivalent to 48-0, perhaps 3-0 or 4-0 ?
Maybe then there would be less matches called off, not by playing players who are ill but fringe and academy players.
