Brilliant service! I'm Watching the Test whilst reading about some exciting prospects. Diego sounds like he might be as good as his namesake! It's about time we had a 16 year old prodigy in the first team!

Anyway, well done Foxy or whoever it is doing the commentary.

Will be a report and pics up later or tomorrow, we were up there for most of the match again today but DazBlade88 is helping us out with updates and allowing us to save our batteries for the later first team match :)

Cheers Pinchy, Foxy and SF. I'm glad you're enjoying the updates and reports! Will continue doing it whenever I go this year, it should be quite regular as I'm having to cut most of the away games with the first team :)

Will the Blades have a wonderkid in the next edition of FM? ;)

Ha, I have a feeling there'll be a certain 16 year old getting alot of interest on there! I'm sure everyone will know who...

Is Diego a midfielder or striker; central or wide? Or is he so good he plays where he wants? I think I shall of :) to go to Shirecliffe some time soon to see these new lads.

Get yourself up there. It's free, and there are some good players coming through.

And thank to Daz for these reports. Very good.

He's predominantly a striker but he can play just behind the striker and on the left of a three pronged attack. He drifts all over tha place though, and always seems to find space.

It's definitely worth a trip, I do seem to enjoy it more than first team games these days, especially in terms of value for money.

The academy lads are at Barnsley tomorrow, and because I can't go to Colchester (as much as I want to) I'll be going up to watch it.

Will be doing live tweets for Foxy and Linz aswell as a match report again for anyone interested in it :)

I'm not going to Colchester either and thought I might take this game in. Does the Academy game v Barnsley kick off at 11am ? I can't see the time on either the SUFC or Barnsley website

It does kick off at 11 mate, I had to tweet one of the players to find out because our website has been awful with the academy updates so far.

Don't go chatting with our reporter putting him off his tweets though :D

Thanks again for Barnsley coverage. You are a lucky talisman DazBlade88!

Diego a bit quieter today?

I went to watch this group for the first time today. Agree with Daz's tweets that 3-0 flattered us, it was quite an even game. However, I'm pleased to say it's because we were clinical when the chances came. Despite a few good moves Barnsley didn't look as if they'd put anything away.

Diego was quiet because he didn't get very much supply. It's the first time I've seen him but there were a couple of times on the ball when you go "ah I can see what people mean".

Salty had a good game, I like Smith's movement (great ball in for the second). I quite like the look of Heather and Pembo put a good shift in. As always they look comfortable on the ball throughout the side.

Encouraging

Fantastic equal opportunities policy as well! Good luck to Heather! Did she play well?

Normally this updates on Facebook, so I catch up on my phone. It's not been on at all today - anyone else had any problems with iPhones after the facebook update t'other day?

Diego a bit quieter today?

I seem to be! Fingers crossed it carries on because it's a cracking start to the season.

Agree with what UnitedBlade said, Diego's supply just wasn't there but he had a couple of decent runs. Should have played Smith in early on though in my opinion when he'd beat a few men and tried a shot from an awkward angle.

Some very encouraging signs from this set of lads, some really cracking players coming through.

They seem to have a good setup at Barnsley impressed with the Layout

That's what I thought, I've never looked over the back of the ground before. Do Barnsley FC own all this land or do they rent it ? Seriously impressed , there must be room for 7 or 8 high quality pitches plus an astroturf one.

I think they used to own it but when they had their financial trouble a few years ago I seem to recall them having to sell the land to the council. I'm not sure though. Absolutely fantastic set up though.

I was absolutely delighted that there was a roof when the heavens opened in the first half!

I'll use this as an advertising tool in the madness of deadline day...

The under 18s are at home to Huddersfield tomorrow - kick off at 11am. I'll be doing the updates for Foxy & Linz (from the right account this time) and doing a match report tomorrow night if I have time.

Actually there is a kid with possibly more promise at the academy as young Diego who Daz ought to be looking at and that would be young Dimaio.

Anyway to the important stuff I hope the next edition has Sheffield United with $500 Million to spend at the start of next season. ;)

I've heard plenty about him but he's not featured much for the 18s yet. Whiteman and Pemberton seem to be ahead of him in the pecking order, so he's been on the bench mainly with 20 minutes here or there. Really looking forward to seeing more of him over this season.

Yeah funny that.

Well someone's got face on... seeing as Foxy is no longer allowed to take photos of the matches.
