bolton having a game saturday v chesterfield
then on tuesday a big game away at southend means we might only be 1 point clear but with the coventry game in hand
We cant do anything but see what happens , but Southend will need to keep Millwall also playing on tuesday at arms length
All very intriguing
We just get on with beating the sky blues can be anything from 4 to 10 points clear come tuesday night
Personally think we will be 6 points clear with 5 to go, come tuesday night
we will win bolton take 4 points

If Fleetwood only gain 1 point from their games with Swindon and ??? And we beat Cov on Wendy. We're up!

As we don't play until Wednesday night how can we be 10 points clear come Tuesday? Are we expecting Bolton to be deducted points if they lose to Chesterfield?

They are playing away at Oxford on Wednesday night . I think it's looking like Northampton on Saturday to see us promoted . Hope I'm wrong of course and it does happen against Coventry .

How many points do you think we will need to make the Championship playoffs next season?

just used to us playing on tuesday cant get used to wednesday night games at the Lane

Personally would prefer to see us to clinch promotion at home. More fans there to revel in it.

That said after six years I can live with it being away!!!!

Think fleetwood will prove too much for Swindon at home, do think they'll drop points away at oxford though. My guess is that P day will be Northampton. Shame about the low number of tickets but will be nice to be at the lane around plenty of fellow blades to celebrate with. Hope the fortunate few going to Northampton help get us over the line. All blades.

I'll do my bit ;)

Who do we want in the play offs and who do we want to avoid. I can see a Blades Millwall final.

Hey c'mon, don't start making light of it now. You were one of the main protagonists in the glass half empty, one game at a time, footballing gods camp only a few weeks ago.
;)

Still am,that's why I'm preparing for the play offs. Got to cover all bases haven't we. Coventry could surprise us.

Why on earth folks still agonise about games in hand and points needed is beyond my comprehension; the years of pain really have scrambled Blades fans sensitivities. Fleetwood need 14 points from 7 games to overhaul our current total...... something they are not likely to achieve - we are promoted already for Gawd's sake!

Not necessarily my friend. In the words of Rowan & Martin, "very interesting............but stupid"

If we lose to Coventry, Fleetwood could be 7 points behind us this time next week. A seven point gap is still pretty comfortable, but if we lost another game that gap could be down to four, which isn't so comfortable.

I'm confident, mostly, but still having the odd moment of doubt.

Correct Fleetwood would have to lose both for us to go up Wednesday night.

If they lose one of their next 2 (or draw both) and we beat Coventry we would only need to beat Northampton for promotion to be guaranteed

Stupid is thinking the impossible, or at the very least agonising over ridiculous extremes - like the Blades losing all our remaining games. Get real........

I think they'll quite easily achieve that but we'd have to lose all our games and that's not very likely. If we had a Wilson type manager I wouldn't rule it out but I can't see it under CW.

Could be interesting having a pitch invasion after the beam back don't you think?

We are the only team in the league to have averaged 2 points per game, so it's highly unlikely they will "quite easily achieve that" and even our worst managers over the last 10 years would find it difficult to screw up from here on in. David Weir though......Hmmmm...
