It does look bad when someone like yourself wants it to look bad. But 3 goals were at Arsenal and 5 were for Brighton after getting a player sent off. Brighton then beat Arsenal 3-0 next game.

Then we have backs to the wall Hull scoring on the break at the end of the game for 0-1. Very unlucky at Manchester City 0-1 and beat Forest 1-0.

We've made some very good signings that are settling in. Our performances are getting better, but I don't mind if we don't stay up as we would go down with much better players and have money for once.....and really enjoyed our stay in the Championship.

Ah yes, hope. I remember that. I also remember it soon fcking off along with any premier league credibility and dignity. We're currently dogshit, with no real ambitions beyond championship survival......... but being in the Prem is just demoralizing. Fck that.

2 out of the 3 promoted sides will go down with either fulham or palace imo such a big gap between the championship and premier league as we have found out twice in the last few years we will be happy with championship survival this season

I prefer the Championship. The bottom sides can beat the top sides. In the Prem you're left looking at where your next points might come from. But we're getting to go to grounds where we haven't played for 25 years or new grounds we haven't visited.

In our 1st 5 games we've had Arsenal, Manchester City and Brighton. Brighton are looking very good so far and brought Arsenal back down to earth. Makes me feel better about our result the game before It gets easier from.here. It's only Newcastle next

Yes we're a nothing club to you, but you still talk about us when we're not going to play each other.

Was like rabbits in headlights away to Arsenal. Couldn't beat the Hull low block yet again then they hit us on the break. Very unlucky away to Manchester City. They even said so themselves and their GK was MOTM. On top against Brighton until they scored and game was over once we got a red card. Then a fully deserved win away to Forest.

We've lost our best defender until about the end of the year, but we have others to come in yet. Wright hasn't played as us injured and struggling for goals, but we are creating lots of chances.

It was never going to be easy, but we've competed in every game other than Arsenal and until the red card against Brighton. Last game we brought in Mfuni to our defence becauseMVE is also injured. 18 year old lad that will play for England in the near future. He will learn a lot with us this season and it wouldn't surprise me if he plays for Manchester City next season.

Interesting thought exercise, but I think I would take getting hammered in the prem every week as opposed to what we are currently looking at for the short and long term.

It certainly was demoralising the last prem season. Not only suffered with what was served up in the matches but the pundits and journos putting the boot in after and before games armed with stats was more humiliation. I certainly lost a bit of my football mojo after that season.

I get what you're saying, but what's the use of trying to succeed in the Championship if you don't want to reach the Prem?

You just need to reach the Prem and hope there's 3 teams worse than yourselves. And when you finally get there hope that your club doesn't over extend themselves with transfers and wages.

2 clubs managed it last season. You need to hope for the same

It was good to see a couple of promoted clubs survive last year, but I still believe the norm will be two out three, or probably all three, to be relegated most years.

The wages and depth squad needed now to survive is mad. You can have a decent first 11, but after 60 minutes you're bringing on players who you had in the championship, your opponents are bringing on internationals that cost £50m.
That's what did us. Especially as we were there in the season they decided to play 12 minutes injury time every match. That cost us in a number of games, Spurs always being the example.

At least getting relegated straight away helps control a few of the costs. Surviving for a year or two and then getting relegated is arguably worse. You just think you've made it and start handing out big contracts and fees and wham. If you don't go straight back up it's very bad, as it looks like Burnley are about to find out, and Leicester have done.

We had a rebuild from L2. Then we had a rebuild in L1. We won L1 then we won the Championship. We did it all without a penny being put into our club, but would I want to go through all that again?

There's another problem.

When we got relegated from the Prem in 2001 I thought we would get back quite quickly. When we ended up in L1 I knew we wouldn't be there long. I was right. But we ended up in L2.

If you think losing in the Prem is bad try losing at home 2-6 to Yeovil when you're trying to make the playoffs in L2. I wouldn't wish it on any big club like yourselves.

Football is a funny old game.

Last season there was no chance of Spurs going down. But West Ham were very unlucky in their last few games and it went down to the last game of the season.

They're not bottom of the table on just 2 points after 5 games for no reason. They've been poor for a few years now.

One of the many reasons I hate Klopp. He bitched and moaned about everything until the rules were changed to suit him.

9 substitutes, 5 can be used. Is that really necessary? The big clubs almost have an entire first team on the bench and can swap nearly half their team during the game. They, Man City and others are able to bring on £400m-500m worth of substitutes while we were bringing on Max Lowe, Mason Holgate and Luke Thomas.

The rules have been skewed to benefit the big teams at every opportunity and that is why the premier league is so depressing but at the same time a necessary evil for the money.

I didn't imply that I don't want to reach the Premier League, I want us to go up and be better prepared, better organised in recruitment etc to make a damn good fist of staying up and competing in an uneven playing field. Our season 19/20 wetted our appetite, then in true Blades fashion, Covid hit, and we weren't the same. But please don't come on here with sob stories from days of old, because at least you have won trophies at Wembley in living memory. We have also suffered at the hands of Yeovil... Swindon, Huddersfield (all towns) and many more. So pack your Violin away, because ours is much..much bigger than yours.

Depends on your preference between unbelievable frustration and sheer dejection. The last season in the prem knocked the club and the fans for six. It was the confirmation we feared that it was a dream too far. Hard to articulate, but the atmosphere and soul of the place hasn't been the same since.

You're correct. But we just went through the motions of being embarrassed week in week out. VAR, big club bias, routine 10 mins added time did away with any yesteryear levellers. We couldn't even settle for being the proud plucky gritty underdogs - we just got royally bummed in every game. A dog that couldn't be kicked any more towards the end. Honestly, shittest season in memory.
