Yes we're a nothing club to you, but you still talk about us when we're not going to play each other.

Was like rabbits in headlights away to Arsenal. Couldn't beat the Hull low block yet again then they hit us on the break. Very unlucky away to Manchester City. They even said so themselves and their GK was MOTM. On top against Brighton until they scored and game was over once we got a red card. Then a fully deserved win away to Forest.

We've lost our best defender until about the end of the year, but we have others to come in yet. Wright hasn't played as us injured and struggling for goals, but we are creating lots of chances.

It was never going to be easy, but we've competed in every game other than Arsenal and until the red card against Brighton. Last game we brought in Mfuni to our defence becauseMVE is also injured. 18 year old lad that will play for England in the near future. He will learn a lot with us this season and it wouldn't surprise me if he plays for Manchester City next season.

We expected to be outplayed at Manchester City like we were at Arsenal, but their GK ended up in the Prem team of the week. We would have been happy losing 1-0 before the game, but that's how it goes.

We need to start scoring goals, but it's a big relief putting the first points on the board. Up to 18th and have already played 2 of our hardest games of the season.

Bless, it will still be new and exciting for you. We remember that feeling. Reality starts to hit around Christmas when squad depth and mentality become vital and the fatigue from the intensity and concentration needed to play at that level starts to kick in.

I applaud your copium levels. 5 games in, 1 goal for and 10 against. Yet still you think Coventry have the magic formula that you’ve been banging on about for a couple of years. You’re just another under equipped promoted side and you’ll struggle to get 25 points.

Doing well in your first season back to the PL after a long while out isn’t for everyone though, don’t get too down about it.

That's literally the most difficult part. Good luck with that.

You might have played 2 of your hardest games already, but you've also played your easiest game.. and lost.

Reality hit home as soon as we got promoted. Have seen sides like your own try and fail most times so know it won't be easy.

It does look bad when someone like yourself wants it to look bad. But 3 goals were at Arsenal and 5 were for Brighton after getting a player sent off. Brighton then beat Arsenal 3-0 next game.

Then we have backs to the wall Hull scoring on the break at the end of the game for 0-1. Very unlucky at Manchester City 0-1 and beat Forest 1-0.

We've made some very good signings that are settling in. Our performances are getting better, but I don't mind if we don't stay up as we would go down with much better players and have money for once.....and really enjoyed our stay in the Championship.

We would've beaten Everton if it wasn't for a worldie save from Pickford in injury time. We were 1-0 up away at Tottenham until the 100th minute and still lost. We were level with Man City until the last minute and would have drawn if Larouci had cleared the ball in to touch rather than try and buy a free kick. Similar story against Forest.

Not long after this we lost 8-0 to Newcastle. And never recovered.

I get that you're looking for positives and hoping things get better, but best prepare for the absolute worst. Half of the teams have benches worth more than your entire squad. It's a horrible league to be in.

Not wishing to get sucked into this black hole of a thread but I presume you checked the Separate Kitching thread out first? Then couldn't help but look at this one. Don't be nieve about coming down as your better players will be cherry picked by other clubs. Tears for Rudoni...it's also not a given for a parachute club to bounce back as many have found out but it should put you in the mix. Anyway Fwankie boy will be taking the England job after the Euros.
A long way to go in the season yet, for both of us!

The couple of 1-0's you describe as "unlucky" - thats just the premier league. In the 20/21 we lost 17 games by a single goal (including losses to City, Arsenal. Man U, Liverpool & Chelsea)
Scoring goals is key. We were only battered about 4/5 times that season but ultimately we "managed" a paltry 23 points

Hardly jealous of a club that’s likely to have a demoralising season. Schadenfreude would be closer to the mark, and everyone enjoys a bit of that.

The reason you get any attention at all is that you lot somewhat bizarrely invaded our forum in a way that other clubs haven’t. Now that you’ve here we are merely maintaining the dialogue.

2 out of the 3 promoted sides will go down with either fulham or palace imo such a big gap between the championship and premier league as we have found out twice in the last few years we will be happy with championship survival this season

If someone scores 5 against a team we need to bring in the new ‘Coventry rule’, where only the first 2 goals actually count. I get it now.
