Covo are like S6.......rustic, bitchy, think their massive.....complete nondiscripts

I work for the council and we have teams of staff looking after the area of Sheff that sits in the Peaks. You might not like to admit it, but we have a rural third of the city that is protected for it's biodiversity and beauty. We also have some of the most affluent urban areas outside of London, it's fair to say we also have large areas of the city that have real problems, just like any city of our size.

On reflection of all the cities I've been to in the UK, Coventry definitely ranks amongst the worst. The city centre gave a really poor impression of the place. Although it was a bit nicer out towards Warwick Uni.
Fair enough.

We tried all that. Our problems stemmed nearly 20 years and that night was a tipping point. Other clubs would have done a lot worse than a few whistles.

It's easy to forget as an outsider just how bad it was at the time.
It’s football, it’s hardly the onset of the 3rd world war, have some perspective you bunch of cry babies.

Your justification for trying to derail a promotion effort is that it was really bad for you, diddums.

No one cares here. We could all see that the disruption was clearly aimed at United and not continuous. You made yourselves look like fools, hence why you get little sympathy on this board.

No one gives a toss about Cov.

People were only invading the pitch because they wanted Sheffield United to lose and not because their football club was about to be kicked out of their own city for a second time and the entire football league?

You lot would be on the pitch in the same circumstances. Don't kid yourself.

No one wants to be blowing whistles and invading the pitch.
blowing whistles when the opposition have the ball, not all the time

Like what was said at the time, Charlton did similar, but did it at the START of the game, and informed united fans of their intentions. United fans joined in the protest, lobbing balls on the pitch with them. After the protest, the game went on uninterrupted. Point made and move on.

You lot were just twats, from start to finish.

We (Sunderland) started off the season superbly gaining something like 28 points from the first 11 games. Since then we have won just 10 of 27 games. This is probably because Le Bris was found out after 11 games and we have struggled with both performances and results. We cant keep a clean sheet to save our lives.

However the rest of the division is fairly poor, they must be, or they would have caught us but we somehow remain 10 points clear of the 5th placed team.

The problem with Coventry is that because they beat us 3 v 0 they thought that they had beaten some progressive team that because we were 4rth were a great team - we aren't - as said we have fallen away dramatically and still aren't guaranteed play off football. Coventry defeated a very poor SAFC team and in reality it was nothing to dine out on.

Since we lost to Leeds at Elland Road, where we were 10 minutes from winning, we have fallen apart and thats because we were so far in front of the rest of the league that the last 13 games were almost meaningless. We gave up.

SAFC play Millwall at home today - we will struggle - as usual, to break a very average Millwall team down - as we struggle with all teams now. We will limp to the play offs but I fully expect us to lose in the home and away round and we wont make Wembley - doesn't matter who we play.

the only people waxing lyrical about Le Bris is sky Sports because more and more SAFC fans are wondering what comes next from him. If/when we dont go up the pressure will be on him and if we aren't in the top 2 or 3 after say 12 games next season he will be sacked.

SAFC previous record outside the top flight was 5 seasons - next season it will be 9 - almost double the record. A terrible indictment of the state of the club since we dropped out of the top flight.
Until 1958 you were the only club that had never been outside the top flight

I think it’s safe to say if Burnley take the lead then the ref may as well call time on the game.

And that’s nothing against Cov who I actually think are pretty decent in attack, more that Burnley are boring 1-0 bastards (so are we to be fair)

As mentioned before, we'd long done what Charlton had done. Our ownership issues went on for far longer than Charlton.

We'd tried all the usual stuff and it did not work.

I hope we would. Who gives a fuck about a promotion push when your club is on death's door?

Yep. You'd be trying to abandon games.

We'd tried all the usual stuff. The media abandoned us too. Very little coverage for a club being forced to play games in 3/4 towns and cities

You’re completely avoiding the point being made (I think purposefully). You only blew your whistles when the Blades had the ball - did you forget your woes when Cov had the ball then suddenly remember them when those in Red and White had it?

Tribal nature, clearly.

But, that does not take away from the fact no one deeply cared about the result because the picture was bigger.

Yet, we celebrated our goal...

I am.

Fair play today. You stopped our offence like most clubs can't. We're crap in defence and worse today as our best defender was out.

Go enjoy your moment. We meet in years ahead or things have gone tit's up and see you at Wembley

They were only doing it when we were attacking

If all clubs deployed a few of their fans to post on here around the time we play them it would actually make this place more interesting

Especially true when they are powerful powerful football supporters like Coventry City's
Frank Lampards Coventry City if you don't mind!
